Bushcraft with anything & making good of whatever is lying around! I've just had to buy a k of mussels from the supermarket 😮 I've searched miles of beach, rocks, under two piers & not a single mussel anywhere!! The fishing is really good so wouldn't say the water quality is shite, but can't get my head around that one. Anyway great demo fella. Quite new to sea fishing & am hauling!! Rays dogs Wighting Bass. Thought I'd open up my options with some mussels! Great channel 👍🦑

Great stuff Billy! I've used fresh mussels on the beach - a good and totally natural bait. I'm going to try the cooked ones from Asda -just the plain ones - no garlic butter 😅😅😅. Cheap too!
Tried it once so far caught a crab but it took it in preference to the mackerel on the other hook. Watch this space 😅😅😅

Hiya Billy - needed a 'Billy Fix' so catching up on a few remaining older vids. Typed out a reply with a link & CZcams wiped it so here goes again! This is interesting. As others have said, I was going to try the Fox Arma mesh tube thingy, but thought sure I can make something up from about 25mm pipe & cheap cotton finger bandage. Not tried it yet - need to go foraging. With the finger bandage jobbie, you could stuff anything in there - Mussels, Limpets, Razorfish, Mackerel chunks etc., and tie it off into 25mm 'bait sausages' before freezing. Guys have also said that the finger bandage trick helps stop the Crabs trashing your baits so quick. Thoughts? Stay safe & well, tight lines, Dave. 🎣🎣👍👍

Hey Billy thanks for advice and video for the BF knot easy to tie and remember
.I myself make the mussel kebab, but i pour boiling water over the mussel,so they just start opening 1-3 millimeters then i cool them down in cold water,i found it easyer to take the animals out of the shells and put them on a spear and wrap them with a lot of elastic, finger thick and 15-25 cm long,i pull out the spear before freezing. When fishing you Can Cut them in desired lenght, flaties 2-3 cm and cod 5-10 cm Its a very good bait for flounders and cod and best bait for wolffish.I had a 56cm flounder nearly 4 lbs on mussel bait
