  • Strong winds were seen ripping through the roof of a military building in San Antonio, Texas, as Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) said a “brief, very weak tornado touched down on JBSA-Fort Sam Houston” on Oct. 26, 2023. #tornado #sanantonio #texas #shorts
Michael Stockdell, who recorded this video showing debris being whipped around in a parking area, told Storyful: “It was crazy to witness the birth of a tornado with debris flying around from less than 100 yards away.”
JBSA said there were no reported injuries, “but downed trees and some damage to vehicles have been reported,” as workers were recorded surveying the area.

I was thinking, wow, great footage... then I see two cars driving right into it or through it and I thought WTH ? If it can rip that roof off, it can flip or roll a car. And the flying debris ? Could go right through the car windows. Seems like such unnecessary risks. I don't get it.

For everyone just seeing this tornado: It did occur back at the end of October 26th last year (2023.) I'm San Antonio's local advanced SKYWARN storm chaser & was there tracking this tornado as it occurred. I was able to get a hold of the NWS very fast & they then issued a tornado warning at 9:15am CST. I called them the second I saw this storm attempt to produce the first time & had them on the phone. Second attempt during cycle this supercell did so, & brought on an EF0 tornado with winds peaking near 100mph making it nearly an EF1. This tornado was right down town over Fort Sam Houston & was on the ground 5 miles moving West to east before lifting. This was our first tornado since 2017 in the city. I have been a local to San Antonio for more than 18 years now & can tell you we are seeing the numbers of tornadoes increase a bit over the last few years. Back in 2021 or 2020 there was another very little known tornado at Canyon Lake very briefly. It tore up Cedar Trees & was ranked EF1. Tornadoes in San Antonio are extremely rare but not unheard of. They usually tend to occur on the East side of town. No storm makes a single move over my city without me knowing it.

You are living tornado areas, start doing some experiment first put table fan at ground level and obserb the rotation of fan clock wise or anti clock wise.
Second visit site Bhaskara wheels, make Bhaskar wheels and put it all around home at the ground level and little above ground level and upto rooftop this will push hot air ,tornado is form when hot and cool air mix.
If we keep city air flowing in tornado areas. We can block or fade tornado.
1000 houses must to this experiment.
Either tornado will form or tornado will get disturbance of air circulation.
We have to play with wind circulation.

So tornadoes like that actually are pretty common further down south in Texas, it’s just THANKFULLY, they’re mostly little guys like this one 😂 I live near Houston and we get tornado warnings all the time during bad thunderstorms, but they’re usually the small Ef0/EF1’s. My little sister just moved to Dallas after being down south her whole life and OMG, they get some scary ones there. Yup I’ll definitely take the small ones over those bigger scary ones. The small ones are scary enough, as well as some of the ferocious straight-line winds that come along w these bad storms sometimes.

Course I’m kinda in the south and I do that every time but in my defense I all so am with in range to dive into a basement if it gets to crazy like 2 years ago Dec 11th and then 2 years ago new years and then this years Dec 9th with my town getting major tornados and multiple at once even I was outside looking for it till the Dec 11th one that turned out a F-3 was less than a thousand yards away and started raining pieces of wood framing from houses all around me that one I ran inside cause I could t tell where it was or what was falling cause it was so crazy out. Only after did I realize what that stuff was and it was a massive tornado that was really really close but I only needed a new roof while many I knew lost all most everything with 22 in my county that night loosing there lives. But looking at what it did you realize with out a basement or hardened reinforced shelter than is interlocked with the foundation even doing everything your told to do how they say do it the reality is it didn’t matter causes there was no safe place and only thing left to even know there was a house there is the foundation and pipes coming out of the ground. The rest was feet to hundreds of miles away and there is no realistic chance of survival when they get at or above a EF-4 outside underground or reinforced concrete shelters.

The birth of a Tornado. Imagine F4 or F5 with wind speeds 250Mph to 300mph. If you get caught in the debris field you get shotgun blasted with glass, wood, metal objects. Doctors who do the Autopsy’s of Tornado victims say this is what kills you. Blunt force trauma from debris. 😢😢

Tornadoes, no matter how strong or weak, are always scary dangerous!!! Most scary part is debris, especially loose glass or large sharp objects flying like missiles or torpedoes coming right at u in a fraction of a second and not knowing when your last breath will be.

My God those pieces of metal flying in the area would go right through the human body . Being out in the open filming is just nuts ! One second and that force is on you . Buckling down in a basement, storm cellar or walk in cooler makes much more sense . Even a small object can go through the body like butter .

I’ve seen straw embedded into a tree from the April 4, 1974, tornadoes in Richmond, Ky. Eight people died in the county that evening. A Ky State Trooper was going south on I75 when a 2x4 came through his rear windshield just missing his head as it hit the front windshield. I’m amazed this guy in the van kept driving into the winds. Wonder what his first clue was?

    • @opoxious1592
      @opoxious1592 Před 6 měsíci

      @@koryleonard8147 I have copy/pasted the EF0 damage description.
      EF0:
      Minor damage.
Small trees are blown down and bushes are uprooted. Shingles are ripped off roofs, windows in cars and buildings are blown out, medium to large branches snapped off of large trees, sheds are majorly damaged, and loose small items are tossed and blown away (i.e. lawn chairs, plastic tables, sports equipment, mattresses). Barns are damaged. Paper and leaves lifted off the ground.
So i think the tornado we see here fits this description.
