I know this isn't much, and I'll be lost in the sea of other comments. This song always resonated with me whenever i heard it in a narration. I didn't realize all the music you composed was on a seperate channel until recently. It's been wonderful listening to all of it. I find myself humming this song in particular when I'm struggling, it helps. I just wanted to say thank you for dedicating your time to narrations and music the way you do. It's helped me get through life and I'm sure it's helped so many others as well. Thank you, Somnium.

I like how sparse the melody is. It’s like the vague memory of a song that’s faded away, and now all you can make out are a few skeletal notes that fell across a chord change and made you feel something once.
The structural elements are still there, but there’s a wind blowing through where the walls once were…
This is actually his content at its best. That specific sensation. Melancholic for what was lost, but still nostalgic for what once was. The happy part of sadness, or perhaps the sad part of happiness.
Laying in bed having a crippling anxiety attack coupled with an ongoing soul-wrenching existential crisis and I found this. Or maybe it found me.Thank you for making the loud world quiet again.
Really good song. It makes me feel like there’s some distant memory just out of reach. Besides that, it’s just fantastic ambience. The background fits really well too.

I love that you’ve leveraged creepy pastas to generate an audience for your music while making a living doing what you love.
I think the last words from her are closest to the truth. My theory about what happened: They both went out there on this camping trip. Something snatched them both up and used them for some sort of fuel/nutrition in a parasitic way, while keeping them in some sort of imaginary fantasy world type of thing. Most of the things that either of them wrote/recorded were done within that illusion and never took place in the reality. Everything up to the point when they set up their camp was probably real, but then afterwards they were both taken into the forest clearing thing and all the stuff that happened afterwards is only happening within their imaginations.

I listen to this every day. Cannot say what it does to me, even the best author and you narrating couldn’t begin to navigate my mind during my listening of it. But I smile. And I imagine peace . And for that, I’m thankful

@@Darksomnium I'm curious about the relationship between this song and the Shattered Life Theme you did since they share a leitmotif there at the end. Was that purposeful? Which did you write first, if you remember?
At my lowest and highest I always come to your music. On one hand Embers of Love makes me think of some of the happiest memories in my life and on the other there's Bad Thoughts which was one of the first songs I heard from you and the one that led me into the whole album. It really helps to cope with stuff with music you can feel and not just sit in silence so thank you for that Ronnie.

Its like someone whose dying is trying to play a song with fading strength so they don't have to die in silence.
I absolutely adore this song, it literally always hits.
This is beautiful. The low but soft piano is relaxing, but suspenseful enough to keep me waiting for…something, then the melody hit, and it was absolutely chilling. Those notes sound so cold and dissonant while simultaneously being bold. This whole song, to me, at least, conveys layers of anguish-the concept that even when others are aware of your another’s depression or general internal suffering, they may never be able to truly understand the true depth of it.
This has always been my favorite of your pieces. The original gave this sense of hopelessness but at the same time a sense of comfort that I haven’t gotten from anything else. The remaster just turned that dial up by 100%. Amazing job and I’m excited to see where your talents will lead you in your future!

I love your music, it's obscure and fantastic like tally hall in a way.
Ima just say that one story this song was in is my favorite story and it got me through my dad grandma and 3 other family members dieing between 2018 and 2021 i also lost some coworkers to the virus but none of the family was due to the virus.
This music makes my soal vibrate. An excellent musician. Well done.

It’s a beautiful song. For some reason it fits perfectly with how I’m feeling over my big brother’s death and the memories of our childhood and adult lives. We were inseparable. It’s very strange to out live your sibling’s.

I genuinely love both versions as they both take my mind away to some far away memories and lost thoughts, the melancholic tones bring up old repressed memories, yet somehow in a good way. There is *feeling* in this song and I vibe with it. You are a true artist.

The song always tugs at some melancholic desire. As if something is ending... I have a hard time finishing the song and it’s damned beautiful. It definitely stirs up the feeling of a Nostalgia I can’t quite place anymore. Whether it’s better that I’ve forgotten the source of that nostalgia or not is... concerning and I dare not find the answer for it.
