I said this in the first video but it seems like a lot of you are missing this: I tried this game with a friend in the past AND the video is edited, everyone. If I kept in every single death the video would be way too long and repetitive. Happy to pick up the game on stream after the last part goes up though if y'all want all the struggle.

Your channel is very quickly becoming a gauntlet of all notoriously punishing games in existence.
Reaching the second island with only 20 deaths is STILL much better than most players.

Good work against Grim Matchstick the Dragon! I recall someone saying it got the most complaints from players because of the difficult platforming in the last stage, and because you could still lose health after the knockout of you fall off the clouds (possibly even lose)
Those complains again? But it's quite clear the editorial line of this channel is not to show every minute of gameplay. And I think the editing is part of what makes it pleasant to watch. By the way, it's a real work and it's very well done. I just hope you don't mind anymore those questionning your skill or how genuine you are, Amber. Honestly, their lives must be quite sad if they lose their time with such negativity.

You accidentally found one of cupheads “secret phases”
Depending on how you interact with the boss, a secret phase that changes a entire section of the fight starts up. Here if you go on the cherubs and cause a chandelier to fall onto the husband, you change the entire story of the fight.
There’s 1 secret phase for every world. For example, in the root pack, when Chauncey the onion comes out and you don’t attack him, a secret phase starts. If you turn small right before the puppet phase of djimmy the great and stay that way until the puppet appears then that changes how he scans you.

The devs of this game have ultra-sized balls. To put this much work into creating one of the most unique games ever and then make it so absurdly difficult that most people will hate it and give up before they're even close to the end... cojones, yo. Cojones.

Oh my god the mermaid boss???? How cool is she???? I love the octopus hair, I love the angry turtle, I love the literal sea-horse, I love that she kind of turns into a medusa mermaid, I love everything about her

When playing "bullet hell" type games, the trick is to focus only on your own character. Rely more on audio cues to know what the boss is doing, and it'll really help keep you from getting overwhelmed.
you should definitely try it. If I beat it without ever even playing a game that had gameplay in it, then you can certainly do it too. It's difficult before you learn the moves, but it really isn't overwhelming or sensory overload-- the DLC is, though, so that would probably drive you crazy, but not the main game.

that damn dragon tormented me for almost 2h
for me it was that ugly genie. Still hate him. I think everything about the boss is the only lackluster one in the game, and it was super annoying to beat, but I still appreciate the puppet part.
Sally Stageplay reminds you of Hornet because they basically have one identical move in common - where they jump up in the air and crash down toward you diagonally (this is fresh in my mind as I’m currently playing Hollow Knight)
Man, I knew you would be great at this game since I first saw you play cuphead, but this is beyond even what I expected. It took me like fifty plus tries for each of the bosses on inkwell 2 (*cries*).
One thing you might not know about the run and gun levels is there's sort of a rhythm to them: If you constantly move forward things are triggered in such a way that they are easier to avoid. Obviously there are times when a bigger enemy or physical barrier will stop you, but for instance the trampoline part with the balloons is easier if you just plough ahead.

This is such a fun playthrough, I have a lot of love for cuphead, just started this episode so I’m excited to see you get to some boss that were a challenge for me, as I say that your handled the rollercoaster boss much better than I did haha

Sally Setplay might remind you of Hornet because of her Divekick, where she jumps up in the air and then dashes at you diagonally from midair. Hornet does this too, divekicks are a fighting game classic!
This game is so good! I just learned that all the characters are hand drawn on paper except coloring, which is so cool!

Fink means a traitor or someone not trustworthy. It came from a Yiddish name meaning 'Happy' that got used in negative connotations like someone who doesn't wash their hair would be Schmeirfink, or happy with grease. Or it may have been rhyming slang for people who would work with the Pinkertons. It's not good in any case.
Seeing folks in the comments meet "The Mermaid Boss" for the first time is delightful.

1:23:00 I had no idea about the hidden phase in this boss fight! There’s one in the very first boss fight in the vegetable garden that appears when you don’t attack the onion during the second phase and it makes the final phase much harder.

Considering how you seem to enjoy platformers more and more, seeing you try your hand at Yooka Layler and the impossible lair would be so much fun.
It's not so hard though, but it has so much charm. Yoku's island express would also be a hoot.
Still can't believe Amber has not gone back to Red Dead Redemption 2, the game is a literal masterpiece and she would so enjoy it. Nice to see ya playing Cuphead though :)
Honestly I'm kinda glad, it doesn't fit with the rest of the games she plays on here in terms of playstyle and difficulty. If you don't enjoy the social interactions and the dozens of game mechanics just for foraging and surviving, the game has 0 appeal - and it's SO long
@@KamasiFitzgerald She plays souls games, she would be fine in terms of "difficulty" and it would fit perfectly. Clearly you aren't a fan of the game and that is okay but that doesn't mean she wouldn't be. And from a "Dev perspective" she would enjoy it even more.
@@azermanesward3290 you misunderstand - RDR2 is too easy and too slow compared to everything else she plays. And I love the game - but it's very poorly suited for CZcams play throughs, imo
@@KamasiFitzgerald I disagree completely, so many people have and are currently doing a first playthrough. A bunch of which, are people she knows. In any case, not gonna argue it endlessly. She would enjoy the game and I think a majority of he viewers would too. Also, it being "too slow" is the weakest thing to say about it, its meant to be that way cause its story heavy, which is a good thing.

I'm working on beating the final guy in the dlc now. This shit gives me awful flashbacks. But the dragon on island 2 by far gave me more trouble than anything else in this game or its dlc, probably the robot second worst but I never used the tracker attack until the dlc.
I have a playthrough suggestion! After you finish cuphead you should play deltarune! Made by the creator of undertale and the universes are connected have fun!!

You swearing every 4 seconds while playing this game is the best evidence we needed to showcase that CZcams's policy on swear words is ridiculous. Nobody can play Cuphead without swearing. Except mutes.
If you are looking for another challenging boss rush type game after this one, I reccomend looking at Furi and seeing if it's up your alley!
What the bosses in isle three don't understand is that Amber is not locked with them, they are locked with her!...... I couldn't finish the game, my patience ran out, maybe I should give it a second chance

Quick question, what device are you playing on? Because remember when you said you wanted to play the second mausoleum, you actually can, if your on console, hold the two buttons at the very back of the controller, idk how to do it on other devices, but i hope this helped you!

Great job! I think you're being too hard on yourself with regard to your ability; I've platinumed/speed-run this game and I died WAY more times. Going to toss in my recommendation for the DLC as well.
