BIGBANG are an ICON in Korean music industry. A LEGEND. They have been dubbed as the KINGS OF KPOP for a very long time. (Nowadays, our local media call them the Emperors of Kpop). Take note, they aren't called KINGS because of popularity alone. Think of a KING that leads, make changes and help their kingdom prosper. That's what BIGBANG did for the idol industry.

They were HUGE in South Korea and internationally before streaming, social media and CZcams.
Taeyang debuted with BB in 2006 so he's been in the industry for a long time and he and BigBang have so many good songs. Bigbang was and is a huge influence for younger idols, they are the blueprint. BTS members have said many times that BB are their idols and role models. Jimin especially adores Taeyang (pink hair)

Bigbang debut in 2006 , one year after CZcams was launched. Most of their MVs have no subtitles but you can find fan posted videos with the translation. Highly recommend you watch BigBang perform live . Sober during Made World Tour in Malaysia. The performance at MAMA Awards 2015 . Everyone in BigBang is also a successful solo artist .After 5 years of hiatus do to military service and personal time off the members are coming back with solo projects. Vocalist Taeyang is expected to release his 4th album this month . Leader GDragon probably in summer. 2 other members anounced they work on solo albums too . This year will be fun . Everytime BigBang has a comeback kpop industry takes an evolutionary step foward .

BigBang set the standard since they debuted in 2006 and even though they only released 2 songs since 2016 their music still holds up. They're the trendsetters and innovators for the entire genre. You can't find a kpop group that wasn't heavily influenced by BigBang. If you notice something that a lot of kpop artist do just assume BigBang did it first. You'll be right 80 percent of the time. Oh, it's fine to call it kpop. Unless you're dealing with BTS and it's members solo stuff. Most of their fans aren't kpop fans and look down on the genre and extract BTS out of it. BTS the group itself is extremely proud to call themselves kpop but even BTS knows you don't mess with BTS fans. They're called Army for a reason. They will mess you up with overwhelming force.

BB has no genre at this point, they experiment with every genre. It's insane. Keep reacting to their songs, you'll love it.
I highly recommend you listen to or watch some of BigBang songs, especially Taeyang's solo work.

I am going suggest that you will enjoy Fantastic Baby based on your comments.. and Coup D'état by their leader G-Dragon. I'm back anytime you visit with BIGBANG. If you go down the 'rabbit hole' of BIGBANG - you will not be prepared for how your channel will grow. ALL the members have successful solo careers so there is a lot of material out there ( but not enough for VIPs - which is the name of the fan base) BIGBANG are genre jumpers - no two songs are the same. BIGBANG songs like dishes on a buffet, all different, yet you'll love them all - never get full and be left with a life time of craving more. I PROMISE YOU!

It's such a banger 🙃I do love the Ted Lasso shirt. Also, on a lot of the official Kpop MVs you can enable captions in English if you want to know what they're singing about.
These guys were my first Kpop group, and they dragged me into this crazy, amazing world. :D Kpop is famous for rapid beat and sound changes. It's fun and eclectic. This song is quite old, so it's the style back then, the club vibe. They play this at American football games and other sporting events. Big Bang is iconic. And yes, you can call this Kpop. It's the epitome of Kpop.
Kpop means korean pop and in a strict sense should only refer to the idol groups . Idols are trained since kids by companies and debuted in groups . The thing is usualy the term kpop is used by most people in a very large sense to include all korean music . Artists that sing rap , r&b , rock get mixed together to idol groups ar solo pop singers .
BIGBANG is 2nd generation, there’s about a 6 year difference between each generation, we are currently at the 4th gen.
They are the kings for a reason, I just subscribed to see if you will dig into them more. Every song is different, every song is great, from ballads, R&B, rock they do them all.
G-Dragon - red hair is the leader, rapper, singer, composer, producer. Has a unique voice that can’t be imitated.
T.O.P - royal and cowboy hat was an underground rapper before BIGBANG, he has the low voice.
Taeyang - Pink hair. Lead vocals and dancer, coming out with his solo album April 25. Check out his last release January of this year called Vibe featuring Jimin of BTS (3rd generation).
Daesung - Hair covering his eyes. Also lead vocals,the power voice.
Seungri - white hair coming out of the sand. Vocals with the angelic voice.
First group to give their fans a name, we are VIPs.
Know more about BIGBANG to better appreciate the younger generations.
Please also check out 4th generation group Stray Kids. There’s about a 10 to 12 year age difference. Like BIGBANG, every song they make is a hit.
