Same here, cool in a haunting way... the show didn't last long, but the theme stuck in my memory and I always associated it with that first image (it's got to be the use of the shadow)
not sure what you mean. It was pretty much universally hailed as an intelligent, thought provoking, innovative series for its time, especially for a crime drama.
redsabreanakin He means now - it's never referred to. Hasn't enjoyed the benefit of re-runs over the years and I don't think it even made it to the UK (a major territory). Every show except "Renegade" that Stephen J. Cannell did, after leaving Universal on "The A-Team", never got picked up here. "Hunter" did, but that was dropped after just the first 2 seasons. He didn't have the distribution power they had and wasn't able to sell overseas through his own company. Must've cost him in the long-run, unless he scaled down production. Making cheaper programmes to recoup his investment, etc. He had setup his own studios in Vancouver. His overheads must’ve been crippling.
@@AirwolfArchive ... that can be a good thing too. I was thinking they could reboot this show and then realized Hollywood would ruin it. In fact most reboots are symptoms of a creatively bankrupt entertainment industry trying to squeeze a few bucks from nostalgia.
Michael McLaughlin You mean they *wouldn’t* ruin it, right? If it isn’t THAT well-known round the world. Those who never saw it, which is most of the planet, wouldn’t have any nostalgic attachment to it. They would be coming at it brand new and fresh, which sounds like your preference.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, Wahl had a motorcycle accident in 1992 and sustained life-threatening neck injuries and for many years battled addictions in an attempt to ease the chronic pain. He now manages his pain with professional medical assistance.
So both Jim Byrnes and Jonathan Banks went on to become Highlander alumni with Byrnes becoming McLeod's watcher Joe Dawson beginning in season 2 and Jonathan Banks appearing one time only as an Immortal bounty hunter who lost his head to the fledgling Immortal Richie Ryan.
Jonathan Banks also guest starred on Spelling' T.J. Hooker as a Psycho Killer and on WISEGUY's Sister Show HUNTER and he also starred in Fired Up Starring Sharon Lawrence of NYPD Blue and Leah Remini of Saved by the Bell and The King of Queens Fame and it was produced by Frasier Crane himself Kelsey Grammar
I have not seen Wiseguy since 1993 on Sky one now Sky Showcase and I miss the show terribly I wish they would bring it back surely some TV would herd of hit much much better than the the crap on TV now Stephen J Cannell pure pure Genius no doubt about it
WISEGUY from the Producers of The Greatest American Hero, The A-Team, Riptide, STINGRAY, The Commish, Hardcastle and McCormick and HUNTER with Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer
Oh F! I just realized Banks is my fav character in Breaking Bad! Watched this show when i was 7 or 8 .....damn! and just watched him get killed in 'The commuter' recently....
I play Metal Gear Solid as a child. i saw this show on public television a few years ago, and i couldn't help but consider how much 90s japanese media referenced alot of movies and tv shows pre-90s maybe it was just the sound track. but Solid Snake is definitely based on that guy right there
Solid Snake is not based on Vincent Terranova in Wiseguy. Solid Snake was loosely based on Snake Plissken from "Escape from New York", eyepatch and all.
My mom used to watch this. AH HAH. Jonathan Banks was from Wiseguy! Everytime I see him on Breaking Bad, I'm like "what show was this guy on...?" Whatever happened to Ken Wahl?
I remember being unemployed in the early nineties staying up late on weed watching reruns of Wiseguy, good times.
A damn smart show. Always looked forward to what the next story arc would be.
One of the best childhood show moments for me. The image he walks out the penitentiary is sooo cool.
Same here, cool in a haunting way... the show didn't last long, but the theme stuck in my memory and I always associated it with that first image (it's got to be the use of the shadow)
never missed an episode was 20 in 87 this show was ahead of its time.. miss those days so much
I always remember and miss 80s what beautiful people and citizens of that time

"Get outta here, Wiseguy, and don't come back!" I loved this show.
Such an underrated show.

I was addicted to this show. Loved it so much.
We get to see what Mikey did before he retired to Albuquerque! ;)

The good old days when television themes were epic. Now the themes are just sound bites, if that.
...good ol Mike Post - he wrote some great intros.
Yes.
If you even get a theme/intro, now they just shove you into the show.
Agree
I know right
UPDATE: Unfortunately, Wahl had a motorcycle accident in 1992 and sustained life-threatening neck injuries and for many years battled addictions in an attempt to ease the chronic pain. He now manages his pain with professional medical assistance.
I remember watching this as a kid and it seemed quite adult oriented. That's what I liked about it.
One of the best themes that Mike Post ever did.
Trimelda Concepcion' McDaniels This theme seems like a variation of the "L.A. Law" theme.
Along with the A team theme
and let's not forget about all 7 Seasons of HUNTER with Fred Dryer & Stepfanie Kramer
"STINGRAY" was his best, but this was great too.
Absolutely!
I love this in the nineties, what a great time and great show. I am brazilian.

Opening of music is awesome! Stingray in the 80's was cool too
Ken Wahl was and is still delicious! I saw this show back in the day and I thought it was great!
This is sexist! You're practically rapping him

Wow great shows ❤
This is one of the best TV themes from the eighties, and nineties too.
So this is what Mike did before working for Gus Fring...
Ya pretty much and before he went to work at Greendale community collage

So great to see full intro scores.
I hate the ones of today where it is just the title, a stupid sound fx and some random Created By caption.
specially when the song has absolutely no relevance to the show...
Damn! Ken Wahl! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
