    Помню Шуру в Спб. В начале 70 х в Большом зале Филармонии и в 90е,когда он играл у Петропавловской крепости. Бесподобно❤

    Cherkassky was a pupil off the great Josef Hoffman, where he studied and lived with his parents in Baltimore USA.

      But Murray Perahias Bach is also sublime and georgeous, and Nikolaevas, and Sokolovs, and Pogorelichs, and Freys, and Andreshevskys and, and, and, and... Everybody of them has something... The rest more or less are personal emotions

    I like the performance very much. It is his own understanding of what Bach wrote, hearing his perspective on the work makes it more interesting to me.

    チェルカスキーは一時ドイツで人気を博したそうですね。ピアノの熟知した神童中の神童といわれただけあり素晴らしい演奏だと思います。彼のライブでは会場全体を一体化させてくれました。

    Mam wrażenie, że niektóre piękne kompozycje Jurka Chruścińskiego z Teatru Witkacego w Zakopanem są wariacjami na temat tej Bachowskiej Partity

    Very close second best to Gould's version.

      I wouldn't say close second. Second, maybe. I have listened to 60+ players play this piece and nobody comes close to Gould's version.

    • @JumpDiffusion
      @JumpDiffusion Před 6 lety +1

      that's very subjective. I find Nikolayeva's performance much more beautiful. But, in general, according to youtube viewers (view count) her version is a close second to Gould's.

    • @jsbrules
      @jsbrules Před 6 lety +2

      Viewing a clip does not mean one finds a performance to be the best! It just means it was watched. There is a dreadful clip of Gould playing a harpsipiano contraption with countertenor Russel Oberlin that I have watched quite a few times, with my mouth agape, and shown others too -- many views!! -- but it is still dreadful. (this was a reply to JumpDiffusion, who used youtube viewership counts as a proxy for liking/beauty)

    • @JumpDiffusion
      @JumpDiffusion Před 6 lety +2

      I only find Gould's toccatas (bwv 910-916) as untouchable. Many other Bach's compositions are played better by other people (Sokolov, Nikolayeva, Tureck, Shiff....). Gould's choice of tempo is sometimes puzzling if not weird. Sometimes he goes way too slow or way too fast. But it's just me. Some people prefer only Gould's Bach and no one else.

    I have enjoyed some Chopin and other performances by Cherkassky (I think even some Bach), but I think this performance is very poor and is especially poor Bach -- in fact one of the worst performances I have ever heard by a fine musician. He seems to be seeking attention with many unnecessary "moment by moment" changes and superficial little tricks, without inwardness where needed. He drags the tempo down to no purpose, and frequently whatever momentum is inherent in the music is derailed by all his fussy attention-seeking changes.
