the plates are nylon and not plastic!
You have a Rock Nylon plate, not plastic trucks. Plastic trucks are in no way safe. These are really nice skates though, bought a pair for a friend who wanted to learn.

Another alternative if you prefer a smidge more padding and support in the boot is VNLA. Same price range and similar color options. Just sharing because I tried these on in black and I liked them but found them kinda bare in terms of padding support so I went with VNLA instead. (the luna indoor model or a la mode or parfait). JUST other options for folks in this price range. The sizing I found to be similar between VNLA and Sure grip. BOTH good skates!!!

Thank you for this review!! Just got these for my husband who currently has a pair of $99 Lenexa Shadow skates but they totally have no cushion or padding and made his feet super sore! Im convinced these Sure Grip Boardwalks will be perfect for him. ^_^
I am so glad to hear that! I had the same problem. Skating was very uncomfortable when I first started, but now things are much better. My skills increased instantly once I changed skates!
Great video! I just started skating around Feb 2022. My Moxi rainbow riders are so heavy but I heard that helps new skaters. I am so ready to upgrade. Fantastic video. New sub here. 🙂🙂

Hi! You can get lighter metal plates but price range goes considerably higher. So, good-quality nylon plates is a very good option. I personally prefer alluminum, even though it's heavier 😅
I plan on buying some higher priced skates soon. Why heavier? That’s interesting

I am a total beginner skater. So far I’ve got a pair of cheap skates made in China. Difficult, with cheap light up wheels, and sold them locally for $30. I’ve also sent back a set of Impalas-so heavy! And sent back Moxi Panthers-tight and no give, and not real suede so won’t form to feet. The Sure Grip Boardwalks have turned out to be the best.
I also got a pair of Sure Grip Fame, but one foot hurts in them-vinyl. Not in the Boardwalks; they broke in fine. Roll great and they break in best.
1.) Are these good for a 37 y/o beginner?
2.) Would you suggest using these skates BOTH indoor and outdoor?

1. The Boardwalk skates are great for beginners at any age.
2. These skates are actually outdoor skates. Outdoor skates can definitely be worn indoors. The material is durable and stylish at the same time. This particular color is similar to the color of the skates that are often rented at skating rinks so you may want to purchase another color (I like the look myself).
