@@maxaldebaran742 Chaka doesn't have a prime, she can still hit every note she's ever done on record. She has highs and lows. If well rested she sounds the same as she did in the 90s, and she's much more refined now than she was in the 70s and 80's.
@@melregissingsChaka is still great but she is not in her prime. smoking has taken a toll on her voice. it's not just about hitting the same notes - she has lost tonal quality.

Wow that band! Bruh! From the very hemindemi quivering quaver second the guitarist strummed the first jazzy chord. Miss Khan didn't turn up to her concert that I bought tickets for at the o2 Indigo areana in London about 3 couples of years back and I didn't get my money back but this footage made up for it Lol 💜🖤.

Praise God. Chaka was one with God on that stage that night. That raspy throat became her power. This woman is the truth. It was not easy for her at that age and with her weight issues and also the emotional ups and downs she was always going through.
Talking about the guitarist, his name is Ricky Rouse who is a legend in his own right. He first played with disco music artist and drummer named Hamilton Bohannon in the 70s. A primal figure who made syncopated guitar rhythms popular which inspired other guitarists (Like Wendy Melvoin from The Revolution-Prince's first band with a proper name). His rhythm guitar is legendary in funk guitar circles.
One more thing about the performance is that they also covered Sing A Simple Song by Sly & The Family Stone. She had dated Sly Stone back in the early days or maybe the 80s.
Chaka Khan's ability to sing songs of different genres has no limits!
I had always dreamed about Chaka Khan singing "Diamonds Are Forever" the James Bond theme song by Shirley Bassey and my dream came true in 2004 when her CD "ClassiKhan" was released.

Only singer comparable to Chaka was Whitney. At least in my opinion and limited experience of 60+ years of listening to music!

I was also listening to Natalie Cole and she possessed that power/talent Aretha was describing.
Love Chaka but she did a lot of ad-libbing at this concert. I really don't care for a lot of that. I saw her several times and she didn't do all that.
Go watch someone else sing! Through the fire was the best live version she ever done! Her belts her untouchable
Ad libbing is one of the things Chaka does best...it's WHY you see her live

Chaka is a sanger with a mind of a musician. Her background singers r there to do the base vocals for her. Master Chaka will always adlib on her songs to make them more interesting n exciting. We have to remember that she arranges her own vocals n harmonies in the studio. Live performances are her playground to express more of her vocal prowess n creativity.
