    Angkor Wat should have been one of the official 7 wonders of the world! #New7Wonders
    Much, much superior to the uninspiring and insipid Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil.

    • @Ngim905
      @Ngim905 Před 4 lety +5

      Yes I also found its historical, art masterpiece, and archeological so perfect. That New7Wonders is stupid, nothing to rely on that. It’s unfair processed by that and also not recognized by UNESCO too. How possible when the 2500BC of Pyramid in Egypt also not in their 7 rank while it just got the honor vote. While Christ the Redeemer of Brazil built in 20th centuries rank one of the seven. That’s so shame to human kind. And should not be called the New Seven wonders, should be called New7Touristsites. Even the Colosseum of Rome also not in the rank.

    It took 32 years for the Khmer people to build this gigantic temple. It was completed in the twelve century. This temple is dedicated to Hindu god Vishnu. However, later it was used as a Buddhist temple as Cambodia switched religion. This is only one of the temple in the Khmer ancient city of Angor. At that time, Angor is the biggest and most advanced city on earth. A combination of environmental, political, economical, and geological impacts brought it down in the fourteen century. It is a very special place for all people explore and learn the history of Cambodia.

      In the Vaishnavite sect of Hinduism, the Gautama Buddha, is the ninth avatar among the ten major avatars of the lord Vishnu. And both Hinduism and Buddhism were never a religion at first place, it's just the way of life. Through course of time Buddha's preachings and his ideals got popularised among the South East Asian countries but not in India. Under western invasion over Asian countries, they wanted to draw a strict line between the two which has brought us to this situation.

      People have been destroying monuments throughout history, it used to be called iconoclasm back then and it has been happening at least since ancient Egypt. What's different today is the sheer number of people living on earth and consequentially the number of iconoclasts too.

    Vishnu is the supreme god of hindu religion. Their is no doubt, the temple bulit by hindu. But the question is who designed and planned?
    The hindu community of vishwakarama or vishwabrahmin caste are historically known craftmen , engineers, architects and planners. Their high level engineering skillset is still exist in India within the community. Ages of political supremacy of casteism in India buried many wonders in history.

    Why don't they make a small version of REAL Angkor Wat ? They have one but with no gold, no color, not original look. It's a pitiful I didn't know about this when I visited Angkor. Everything with gold and rubies. Unfortunately, we just can imagine that.

    How come the central god is Vishnu?? Any evdinces any where???
    It has to be lord Shiva!
    Vishnu doesn't have the biggest of temples ! All biggest temples of South India mostly stands for Shiva!

      Actually, the largest temple in India is the temple of Ranganathaswamy, a form of Vishnu, and it's in South India.
      Regarding Angkor Wat. Inscriptions, art and the murti itself are the evidence.
