Actually, as a British citizen, I kind of want to go and live there myself. Unfortunately, my passport expired 1 year ago, it costs over £80 and probably 3 months to get a new one. I actually fancy a free flight and resettlement in Rwanda myself, so am seriously considering rocking up on a dingy near Dover!

If it was Brits not wanting to live in the EU he would call them racists. If it was Brits not wanting to make a new life in Rwanda he would call them racists. This article is entirely contrary to what has happened. Israel sent some 4,000 migrants to Rwanda. Supposedly with the support of the UNHCR. That was not forthcoming. The were abandoned by the UNHCR. Most of the asylum seekers left Rwanda for Uganda. At least one was shot dead, in North Africa, apparently while trying to return to Europe.
Israel sent about 4,000 asylum seekers to Rwanda. Almost every one of them left.
The Israel Supreme Court declared the policy of transfer contrary to the Israeli Constitution.

As you said yourself the UNHCR abandoned them, and the Israeli gave them only 5000$ and told them to fuck off, I agree that the deal the Rwandan Gov't signed wasn't thought through well and I think they hadn't done any Feasibility study to see if it will work. Moreover it was agreed upon that Israel in partnership with UNHCR was to fund that program for which they didn't do, then they come back and accuse Rwanda of not treating them right!! Comeon for me that's lack of accountability, if they had done their job well maybe it could have worked. And Rwanda now has much more experience in those kind of partnerships in 2019 it signed one with UNHCR to harbor refugees which were held in Libya and being mistreated and so far it's been excellent. So I think if the UK does as agreed upon in the agreement the partnership has high odds of being successful.

Rwanda definitely one of the safest and cleanest countries in Africa. It beats south Africa when it comes to that. The leadership there is really trying to improve the nation(unlike many other African and even European countries)
