Agree, 100%! As for the main topic, real life gets in the way & gaming becomes secondary. Plus, there's zero gaming rental stores (lol)! I might response to the video later.
Getting older, I’ve realized my progress is slowing and my backlog just keeps growing. I still can’t kick that collector mindset haha

Man I did another purge just to focus because everytime I got a new game I would stop the one I am heavily invested in. I would like, "I'll come back to it later."

Def feel this. I am burnt out at the end of the day from work and life and barely want to play a lot anymore. I have trouble getting myself into it as much. Too many other distractions and responsibilities. I have 800+ games and need to purge because I will never get to a lot of them.
Yeah man, I can totally relate to games taking longer to beat these days. I'll spend weeks or even months sometimes finishing a single game simply because of time. Time is precious, especially the older you get. So dedicating 20, 30, 50 hours to a game is a huge commitment when you are a "responsible adult".

I've noticed over the last two to years how a 10 hour game takes me weeks. Then a RPG game forget about. Haven't completed one since Ni No Kuni II and that took months. Now if I want instant gratification I will play really short titles.
Yesterday I sat at my desk installed Cyberpunk 2077 but never played it. LIFE. Its funny man. Good to hear from you.
As you get older you have more responsibilities. With a job, household responsibilities, wife and family, and other social engagements I now just play one game at a time until I beat it. So now I only buy top tier games mostly exclusives to a console system. The reality for me now is that I just can't play every game I would like to play.
Yes. The purge of some gangs helped me. Cleared my mental space. I also started focusing on certain types of games.
For me, it doesn't just take me longer, the type of games I am interested in has changed. I can no longer play open world, 100+ hour games. Anything over 20 hours is almost a "no go" for me. And depending on how the day goes, sometimes I can't even bring myself to turn the PC on. Adult life can take up alot of time.... get off work, mow the lawn, cook, eat, spend time with family... by the end of that, its time to go to sleep so I can go to work the next day
Exactly! I got rid of a lot of games because realistically I'm not going back to them. So shorter games with instant gratification for me. Thanks for watching.
Sometimes I have lots of time but I find myself overwhelmed with which console or game to stay focused on so I end up not playing that often. It’s a good problem to have but I miss the days of being dedicated to the handful of games I owned as a child
For me personally I started feeling overwhelmed with too many games. About five years ago I started doing a purge. Plenty much doing a sweep titles and figuring out what I realistically wanted to play. That gave me time to just focus.
Good topic. I'm 38 now and my way of gaming has changed quite a bit. As you say, responsibilites kick in. I might do a VR to this myself at some point 👍

Being an adult is like woohoo i can play games when ever i want. But then its also like you have no time to play games lol
Yes. The double edge sword. I try to fit it in when I can. Usually after work. Depends if I'm tired or have errands to run.
As a self proclaimed DeadThumbGamer, I hear you! The term Gamer, is interesting nowadays. Although there are many “Professional” Gamers. Its important to remember that Gaming is an activity of leisure. Many will say hobby... So, there’s no struggle.... Although, I understand the topic.
Tbh, I know I’ve seen similar vids in the past... 🤔 Possibly here on your Channel 🤷🏿 Either way, no harm in revisiting... We’re only getting older 🕹
The part about "gaming is an activity of leisure". Its so true for me. I still enjoy it but different now that I'm older. Yes. I've done a vid here or too about this. Too Old for Video Games.
Yes. I like to revisit things. We all continue to evolve. I like to hear from people.
As you get older you have a lot of responsibilities. I don't like playing games for 20+ hours. Some games 100 hours. I stick to retro games like Wonder Boy, Sonic, Golden Axe, Streets of rage 2. 30 min to 1 hour. That's it. Then I am done for that day.
Definitely the shorter titles. I've looked at my completed games over the last three years. The length of how long the game is has got shorter and shorter.
Problem i have is i find games cheap as hell know. But i as well have hardly no time.My closet is feel with seal games.
The sealed games became too big of a problem for me. I did a purge of some games. Trying to focus on certain titles. I've been getting rid of the new games once I beat them. Only have so much time. Even if I had the entire day to do nothing I still wouldn't game. 😂
