      The use case would be a truck rig or 4 wheeler or ever dirtbike mounted for overland exhibition. Qd mount or use the modular system to have it mounted to some kind of vehicle. And of course have the option to take it off quickly ans strap to chest witch already would be on yoh . And witb the system he used you can mount other thi gs to both bike and harness . I'm witb you the idea and craftsmanship is amazing. And I would guess it's needs ti cost like 1500$ to 2k for him to make custom . Now add all the blades and tools in it at least 3500 to 5k to furnish it . Nit budget . But amazi gly cool if you got the dough

    Pro tip: 1.25x the speed on this video, you won't notice. I also like how he says it may not look complicated, when it's literally the most complex sheath system I've not only ever seen in my entire life, but could even imagine.

  • @zeuqramjj2002
    @zeuqramjj2002 Před 2 lety +1

    The middle blade should probably be canted up on the main rig just a bit or set one screw towards the tip so it’s handle is out of the way. I would also carry them edge up so they’re not riding into the sheath and getting prematurely dulled. I am a wheelchair user so finding the best way to carry that is not always on a belt has always been my goal even when weight doesn’t matter like that beauty of a rig!!

    • @BlackBearCustomKydex
      @BlackBearCustomKydex  Před 2 lety

      Agreed. Sometimes the angle I end up going with is what's most practical, other times it's what is most conducive for the build itself, meaning alignment of holes to physically assemble it all.

    Just got into kydex making after I got an Adventure Craft. The kydex was too big and heavy for me for the small knive. Ended with a similar sling design but speced down and a very simple and light design. Went through some prototypes and got some finctioning sheets now. But that fit and finish on your sheets is awsome. Guess there is a lot of homework and toolmaking left till I get there.

      @@BlackBearCustomKydex Yes, just finished a new taco dedicated press with a strech aramid fabric to eliminate the hump on the spine. Did quiet well in the first test. Today I try to build a preclamp system I can use by foot to close the press enough to keep everything in place till I put the clamps on. I did custom saddles for a decade. So I have a strong sewing mashine. 2 weeks ago a friend of mine visited me with his hunting knives as he heard I started with kydex. He had an idea for a kydex/webhing add on to the kydex he made for his cold steel hunter master, to make it a belt sheet. Instead of riviting the webbing to the kydex I just sewed the webbing on the kydex. Worked perfect, perfect seam as well. Maybe something you didnˋt know and just in case you might need to solve a problem like this. I use a Pfaff 145 H3 walking foot sewing mashine, 140 needle 40 yarn.

      @@BlackBearCustomKydex Donˋt know what you really want to do with it and what you mean with heavy duty mashine. I f you think about a shoe repair mashine, they really take a lot of space. If you want to sew over half an inch thickness you will most likely need it. But you might consider a colums leather/upholstery mashine. They are normal industrial mashines but the column gives you the same freedom sewing on objects.
