The fact this is being debated is asinine. Team Serbia only had one NBA all-star. Team France had 2 NBA all-stars on defense. Team Canada only had one NBA all-star. Team USA’s entire roster are all-stars. Therefore nobody should be surprised they won the gold medal.

The fact is you're playing in a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. Teams have been training 4 years straight to beat team USA. Anybody that knows basketball knows anyone can lose one single game in basketball. This isn't a series and you're not at home. 100 thousand people nearly everyone rooting against you. NBA players aren't the only professional basketball players. The fact that it's been 20 years since the dream team y'all don't think the world has caught up in basketball in 20 years. Winning is winning and it's never easy to beat teams 3 times in a row.

@@f.e.d9933 - “world has caught up”….wow, so basically the top 15 NBA players are only ‘just’ better than the world?
“They have been training for four years” - wow, so Jokic during his off season flies back for training camp with the Olympic team? Thought he was riding horses 🤦‍♂️
I swear you guys make a WHOLE LOT OF EXCUSES.
Fact is, Team USA plays with a level of arrogance that it should be GIVEN to them, whereas the WORLD plays like it needs to be EARNED.

The original Dream Team brought on Christian Laettner a college player at that time and even he got to play minutes in games. For Steve Kerr to not play Tatum & Hallerburton is unprofessional. It sets a bad precedent, now in future Olympics or World Championships other NBA players will have second thoughts about joining Team USA cause they might not even play at all.

What he couldn't say is bc the nba let a narcissist active superstar own a sports agency, with a plethora of conflicts of interests to leverage players and access to push mouthpieces into media for narratives, The Olympics won't let the reigning nba champion off the bench and get shine. The nba cant market the future, bc lbj's ego is so fragile, that going 10 mins without mentioning his name on ESPN is a sin. Its why mj gets more air time 22 years retired than the mvps or champions. Association of lebron with the greatest, is more important than the nbas future.

  • @LouSeph

These entire Olympics and the NBA and the game of basketball have all been prostituted for the narcissism, insecurity, entitlement, and ego of one person. The NBA functions the same as the WWE now. The WWE provides for more entertainment and isn’t just about one person. The NBA plays a bad style of basketball. It’s all about stats. There is a reason the NBA is the sports league losing fans and it’s not politics.
Women’s basketball and men’s college basketball are doing just fine. How are the WNBA, men’s college basketball, and women’s college basketball destroying the NBA in ratings?
The NBA did not even barely acknowledge their champion this year. The finals MVP was not on team USA. The second best player on the championship team did not get to play on team USA and just sat on the bench. The 40 year old man who hasn’t won anything legitimate in almost a decade. Now, he leads the team in minutes to pad his stats but disappears in every fourth quarter just like in the NBA, gets carried by Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, then gets the MVP.
That is the LeBron James experience and it has been that way for 21 seasons. The NBA did not have a plan to push Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan was not even the top pick in his draft. They did not know what they had in Michael Jordan and that occurred naturally. we literally saw the Pistons breaking the rules, playing football against that dude to stop him from winning.
LeBron James gets away with playing football because he is too much of a narcissist to develop the rest of his basketball game, he is the AAU superstar, no skills, no fundamentals, no team play, just run in transition and get dunks. That’s his entire game. That’s why he needs PE because there is no deeper fundamental game to fall back on as he ages.
These guys in the NBA are PATHETIC for watching this and allowing it to happen - it’s why the NBA is the only sport losing fans and losing them FAST!!!
They have made winning worthless for these pampered entitled narcissists who can’t win and don’t wanna be accountable.
What other sport trashes its own history because the current generation thinks they are entitled to be the best just cause they were the most recent crop of players???
Can you imagine if Patrick Mahomes resorted to paying people to trash the legacy of Tom Brady - but was too pathetic and weak to say it himself??
Or if Bryce Harper was paying people in the media to discredit Willie Mayes or Hank Aaron??
But the NBA does this everyday for a roided out super narcissist with no skills besides bully ball and getting away with charges and carries…..
The NBA discredits their own history and destroys their own fandom lmao! They don’t get LeBron groupies don’t watch these games. They follow him with a celebrity crush. They are in love and obsessed with LeBron - they aren’t basketball fans.

I despise this notion that the game has _"become global"_ as if the WORLD hasn't played basketball since the 1930's!!! Europeans were playing in the NBA BEFORE Black players were allowed in the NBA!
I give credit to Sebria, Germany, France, Austraila, & South Sudan for coming out to compete during these Olympics. If you watchef the 4th quarter against Serbia you can see exactly why Team USA is vastly overrated. I loved how Chuck pulled rank!!😊

Its like steve kerr coached to do just enough to win against these teams and not DOMINATE. If Jaylen brown and Kyrie, and Kawhi leonard were on the roster they would have enough athleticism and scoring to knock these teams out in the first or second quarter. In my mind, even with the team they has they had enough. They played way too passive and slow and the rotations didnt seem set up to maximize potential. Start the BEST 5 players, not based on politics, and go out and dominate, and destroy these teams from the jump. Guard them all 94 feet with intensity, create turnovers, run the fast break. I saw none of that

  • @gregorylagrange
    @gregorylagrange Před 26 dny

If you averaged 5 points per game, that doesn't mean you can't talk about basketball.
But if you respond like Kendrick Perkins usually responds to people, not in a debate "I disagree and here's why..." way, but in a Fred Sanford "you big dummy...." kind of way, then then you have room to respond back the way Barkley responds back.
But Barkley is right. They're going to struggle to get players to come if you have some players not playing at all during early games.
They might have some players say just take 8 next time.
Next olympics might not be a problem since it's in LA. Convincing them to give up their summer and stay in Brisbane for a couple of weeks might be a little difficult.

older players.... The stars of teams who were swept and/or nearly swept (Did the Lakers win one?) out of the playoffs. Hopefully,
this disaster won't spill over into 2028, when young stars like Tatum, Jaylen and Kyrie may withhold their services....
