I really needed this today. I've been living in fear a long time and I'm writing this at four AM. I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. This youth music has spoken to me since I was a senior in high school. That year I started having a serious health complication and I needed surgery. I was scared and I didn't want to have it yet because I had been asked to a school dance and that was coming up. It was the last dance of the year and I didn't want to miss it because most young women would turn me down because I have a disability. The girl was in my youth group and our families were good friends. We moved when I was eight years old. The first people to welcome us was a young family like ourselves. The eldest girl was seven. She had a five year old sister and a new baby sister. I'm also the eldest. My brother was six and my sister was a toddler. Our birthdays are pretty close. We had just had them not long ago. The middle daughter was just a few months younger than Jason. So we were pretty close. We're all grown up now and we have another brother who's starting high school this fall. I was able to go to the dance. My procedure was scheduled for July. They weren't able to fix it so I had to have surgery in the fall, around general conference. My dad downloaded the 2015 and 2016 youth albums for me to listen to in the hospital. The music inspired me and gave me hope and encouragement to hold on
