Grew up in the tri-state (North Jerz, where WNET still currently serves my area). Remember that logo and WNYC's (including 2 alternate ones - also remembered it becoming WBIS when I was on vacation in WETA-land in 1996, then WPXN that next year) VERY fondly.
Logos not shown: WLIW and WNJM/WNJN (part of NJN, which I saw its last hours in 06/30/2011, my first day of my vacation back in NJ, before handing over to **coughs** NJTV the next day).
Now I live near the Big Guava, home of WEDU (It co-produced - before TBN adapted it to the Christian crowd - THE REPPIES. I even passed by the theater where most scenes were filmed!)
And on CPTV's logo - it's my second-favorite to WNET's. It's so humanoid, and it looks like an abstract Southern monogram! Being a Barney fan, I'd fill up with delight seeing that thing precede Season 1 eps of Barney & Friends.

Interestingly, most all of the big three networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) all have sister stations, whose call letters are exactly the same save for the first letter, on both coasts. The West Coast stations (KABC, KCBS and KNBC) hail from Los Angeles, while the East Coast stations (WABC, WCBS and WNBC) are all from New York City. PBS' stations in those cities are KCET and WNET, respectively.

Hey Everyone, I hope you guys are having great Nostalgia from this video. As I learned a little more about PBS stations. Here are all of the opinions about all the station logos and consider it a universal timecard. This took long to make so, please be happy about this comment and enjoy this universal time stamps and my opinions on every logo. Not meant to offend any homestates that people grew up with.
Opinions will be shared in parathesis
0:00 The Universal PBS logo (while making this I found that I got red text)
0:06 KPBS (This brings great vibes)
0:09 WNET 13 (This is a great station for famous kid shows)
0:12 KBYU (Piano echos give it a relaxing feel)
0:16 WQED (It's pretty short and sweet)
0:21 WFSU (This logo has an unsettling vibe for some reason)
0:27 WTTW (The music in the logo works well with the previous logo. Great CGI)
0:31 WHYY (WHYY is this so great? I find it a little under exaggerated logo, no offense Philadelphia. Love the bell)
0:35 WGBH (An iconic logo that is probably shown on a lot of TV shows. Surprising how they still use the logo)
    0:39 WIPB (Remember the synth)
0:45 KUHT (Pretty Basic. But is a good design)
0:49 KET (Previous logo was quiet. this logo was a fanfare.)
0:54 WNYC (A little dated but great CGI)
0:58 Georgia Public Television (I read one comment that he find it unsettling. I find it mysterious)
1:00 WLVT 39 (Someone said that this is ear candy. He was right.)
1:10 KTCA (Reminds of some logo but can't ring a bell. psst.. It's Colex)
1:15 WPBT (Zooming in, reminds me of something. psst.. It's Viacom)
1:20 KCTS Seattle (Violin gives good vibe)
1:23 KERA (This is a great logo as it uses "RAD" music)
1:26 North Carolina Public Television (This logo is cute with the music)
1:30 KSPS 7 (Reminds about 3G home video. Quieter and tamer)
1:36 WCET (WOW! Old Fashioned logo)
    1:49 WNED (Silent?)
    1:52 WGBY (Another Silent?)
    1:56 KAET (oh. Silent)
    2:00 KQED (Finally! Sound.)
2:03 KRMA (Mix this audio with KSPS 7's visuals and crank the volume too high. You get 3G home entertainment)
2:08 WGTE (Returned to silent town with a children's drawing)
2:13 South Carolina Educational Television (Least, they have an announcer)
2:17 WPSX (Sounds familiar? It's WIPB)
2:20 Connecticut Public television (Great Logo because of the music)
2:24 Oregon Public Broadcasting (Music just gets more and more relaxing)
2:27 KLRU (Disney Home Video Vibe)
2:29 WMHT & WMHX (Is that Bluestone? With SILENCE!?)
2:32 WJCT (Also gives an old vibe)
2:35 Nebraska ETV Network (Relaxing music)
    2:39 WEDU (Good CGI movement)
    2:45 KLRN (METAL SILENCE)
2:49 KOCE (It's cool but yet disturbing synth)
    2:52 MPT (Seen better days)
    2:57 WETA (Relaxing music)
3:00 WXXI (Ear candy but not Eye candy)
    3:04 KCET (Heard it discontinued)
    3:08 KUED (Relaxing last logo)
3:13 Universal PBS logo (And we are done)
OK guys we will wrap it up here. Have any Questions? Reply.

Nice collection of logos! There's one I'm looking for in particular... I don't know what station it's from, but it's a graphic of a reel-to-reel recorder running in the upper left corner of the screen, as a synthesized music phrase plays twice. Seen in NYC in the early 80's. Any idea what it's from?

Regarding Missouri-- you should be able to find some old program intro headers from KCPT in Kansas City, at least. And the 50th anniversary special from KETC in St. Louis does have an old program intro header from the 1970s (with probably the best-sounding synth music I heard for a PBS station).

0:58 to 1:01. I imagine some people shit their pants seeing that. Even I found that logo a little creepy.

The WCET Cincinnati one looks to me like it was made in the 70s (we already know the WGBH Boston one was).
WLVT Allentown also has a very 70s-ish feeling to it, but because of the graphics it looks like early 80s. In fact, it seems easy to tell the "newer" ones apart from ones that were made in the earlier 80s, because of the more awkward graphics.
Interestingly, nowadays WNET New York doesn't brand itself as "WNET" anymore---their logo is the big word "Thirteen" (as in channel 13).
