    Looks a lot better than before. Love all the additional green/lawn spaces and trees. New fountain is lovely. I like how they tied in picnics with runaway railway, merch and the green spaces… clever! I don’t think anything was really lost, it seems like a much better land now.

    >I hope extra money was set aside for the nightly cleaning and repairs ;)

    One thing I immediately noticed is that they REALLY improved the background illusion!! The city looks like it stretched onward, and the mountains go on forever, and there's little farmhouses off in the distance and it REALLY adds to the immersion! The mountains are especially impressive the way they blend from green to blue so it really looks like they stretch out into the horizon and then the sky. It used to feel very flat, with just one little colorless mountain range (you can probably find pics online to see what I mean). The attractions have improved tremendously as well. When I was a kid in the 90's, I remember there being a ton of stuff to play with in ToonTown and it was my FAVORITE part of the park, but then safety standards changed going into the early 2000's and a lot of them were altered or closed leaving ToonTown feeling more for show than play. But now they've added playgrounds, slides, and tons of interactable objects and brought the fun back! Well done! I can't wait to bring my kids here someday and share my love for ToonTown with them!

    This looks like a great revamp. Great call on making more interactive spaces and areas for families to just chill and hang out. I think with all Disneys latest additions skewing more adult (galaxy's edge, avengers campus), it's the right move to makes something that's perfect for little ones, while still being quality.

    Very cool. Overall, minor differences to the overall shape of the land. Tooncentential park does seem to be a better use than Daisy's trailer. I miss the fountain by Roger Rabbit's entrace but I guess stroller parking is important now that we have a plethora of people allowing their 6 year olds to ride in strollers.
    The new fountain in the middle is nice but man, I really miss that brass instrument fountain. I'm grateful for the last video Tom shot showing it play music, a year ago. I do get why they added all that space in place of Mickey/Minnie's fountain, though. It makes sense.
    Goofy's playland looks pretty good, too bad we'll never see those "coated acorns" again from Chip & Dale's ball pit. I love that Goofy's has so much interactive stuff inside. Well done to Disney for making lots for kids to touch and do, lots of kinetic energy, etc. Also, a huge thanks to whoever filmed this. Almost looks like Charly's style of camerawork.

    Great update to the land! HOWEVER....
    14:38 So this portrait is of particular interest to me solely based on what is depicted.
    We have Daisy Duck with a group of Junior Woodchucks, who are (from what I can tell):
    Max Goof (this is inside Goofy's house, so it makes sense he's in the picture)
    Webbagail [aka "Webby"] Vanderquack
    Hubert [aka "Huey"] D. Duck
    and one unnamed female duck, who based on design and context of the group is either April, May or June (all three are Daisy Duck's nieces, and in older lore serve as love interests for Huey, Dewey and Louie)
    What's odd to me is that while Huey seems to be using his "classic" design, Webby is clearly modeled off of her design for the 2017 reboot. Why one duck family member is using the "classic" design and another is from a completely separate continuity is...a bit odd. I loved the 2017 reboot of "Ducktales", but I wonder if this portrait was made when the show was still in syndication, and maybe the fact that 2017 Webby is here lends to the theory that the 2017 variations of the "Ducktales" characters were going to have a stronger presence in the parks? I mean, Epcot got that World Showcase adventure tie-in. I wonder if this portrait means there was more to it, or just an animator's mistake? Even stranger, concept art of a "water balloon fight" with Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby was drawn for the now-cancelled Play pavilion that was to replace the defunct and abandoned Wonders of Life pavilion at Epcot. Curiously, all four ducks were drawn in their "classic" style, including Webby. Along with the figures of two of Donald’s nephews in the flooded boat, the only other piece of Disney Parks theming I've seen outside of the Epcot World Showcase Adventure to feature any of the 2017 "Ducktales" character designsI know this renovation of ToonTown took quite sometime and the "Ducktales" reboot ended in 2021. Maybe plans were made to include the 2017 versions in ToonTown as promotion for the series at one point? It's been historically proven that Disney will opt to promote current versions of properties in their parks as opposed to the older aka "classic" ones. Was this a leftover from such an abandoned PR push for the reboot? Maybe for the second season? Possibly the third (and final) season? Anyone else catch this and have any similar/alternate thoughts?

    • @twotonedearly
      @twotonedearly Před rokem +2

      to add to that theory. if that unnamed female duck is either April, May, or June. Their look could be taken as a reference to Legend of the Three Caballeros since they did appear in that series assisting the Caballeros.

    • @Mechasonicrocks
      @Mechasonicrocks Před rokem

      @@twotonedearly That’s true. I’ll have to look into character design artwork for April, May and June from that series and compare it to this portrait. If this other female Duck sitting with “classic” Huey, 2017 reboot Webby and Max Goof is indeed supposed to be one of Daisy’s nieces as portrayed in 2018’s animated TLOTTC, then we’re getting back into “House of Mouse” levels of universal crossover…Which is awesome btw.

    3rd Little Piggy Bank? Surely they should have changed that to Scrooge McDuck's bank or something to match the land's new all Mickey & friends theme. They removed Chip n Dale's Treehouse and replaced it with a patch of fake grass. I'd rather they just blocked off the entrances to the tree and kept it as a themeing piece. Centoonial park is also a waste of space, supposed to be a picnic area but instead has become a stroller parking lot lmao

    • @Mechasonicrocks
      @Mechasonicrocks Před rokem

      Combining multiple CONITINUITIES as well! Check the portrait in Goofy's house at 14:38. Notice anything? I i did. Webby's portrayed using her design from the 2017 reboot of "Ducktales", while every other character in the portrait appears to have their "classic" design. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2017 reboot of "Ducktales", but this particular portrait got me thinking. My train of thought is the fact that 2017 Webby is here lends to the theory that perhaps the 2017 variations of the "Ducktales" characters were going to have a stronger presence in the parks? I mean, Epcot got that World Showcase adventure tie-in. I wonder if this portrait means there was more to it, or just an animator's mistake? Was this a leftover from such an abandoned PR push for the reboot? Maybe for the second season? Possibly the third (and final) season? Maybe I'm grasping at straws, but it was just such a strange inclusion when every other character from the respective "Ducktales" universe in ToonTown is always using the "classic" designs.

    Adding small open areas for children to run around in is pretty cool, the park spot with the roots for them to climb on is a bit dull looking though. (I can already smell the lawsuits from parents whose kids tried to crawl under them and got stuck or fell off.) The fountain looks nice but are guests not allowed to go near it? Goofy's house has improved a lot by giving the kids more to interact with. Donalds house seems to have gone down in quality, you cant' go in it anymore and there isn't much to interact with outside. I suspect their going to have water jet fountains outside judging by the gold drain holes in the front but that still doesn't make a lot to do. Also that's only good for the summer months. If they want to keep that little area of Toontown with the jail and firework factory all interactive then they should have added more because there isn't much to do on that side unless your going to one of the rides. And why did they keep Gadjets Go Coaster, that was lame when I was a kid and it still is now?! It's nice to have the quiet area but all together, I still don't like toontown an wouldn't care if it perminantly closed.

Compare this to Universal's " Nintendo World." The Nintendo land with it's high buildings is too shut in. " ToonTown" is so open in comparison. Somethings have'nt changed for the Night Crew every surface has to be cleaned top to bottom. Little hands get everywhere. I wonder how long it will be before people start breaking things off for souvenirs? Cheers, Chris Perry.

      @elinolasco-vj5jm yes that's the problem. It's not SUPPOSED to be. But it is. Look at that El Capitan theatre and tell me there are no square angles or straight lines. It's not really an opinion. It's math.

      Meh, the reboot was fine...Especially compared to how bad the original series' writing got in later seasons. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED OG "Ducktales"....But even I HAD to admit, those latter batch of seasons were NOT written well. The reboot was written SO much more cleverly. Sure the ending was divisive, and personally the animation took a while to grow on me, but I ended up really enjoying 97% of the entire 3-season run, despite the shift in animation style. OG "Ducktales" was good for ONE season writing-wise, but the animation was quite consistent for the latter seasons as well. That being said, if the writing's bad, it doesn't matter how great the animation looks.
