  • Hello, Everyone! I have received multiple requests to review/compare the Snap Duo Trend to the City Mini GT-- here is a quick video to help answer some questions regarding these two strollers. First and foremost, I want to commend Valco Baby and Baby Jogger for their customer service- both of these companies went above and beyond to answer my questions (without knowing why I was requesting the information). As you will see in the video, price point is similar, and some of the features are of the two strollers similar while others are very different. Fingers crossed this video was helpful for you, and that you are able to make a more informed decision regarding your next stroller purchase after watching.
    Side note: because it will be asked, I will go ahead and answer the question of which of the two strollers I prefer. I want to preface my answer by stating that both of these strollers are amazing, and I don't think a person would be disappointed in either purchase- different families have different features that matter most to them. For me/our family, we prefer the Snap Duo Trend. Why I/we prefer the Snap Duo Trend: lightweight; clean fold technology (stroller folds in on itself to keep surfaces child touches clean); much easier fold; fabric is stunningly beautiful/high quality; more upright seating position; greater seated head height (greater height available from hip to top of head under open canopy); fits in the back of my SUV while still allowing me to use part of my 3rd row seat (without needing to 'tweek' the stroller at all); longer crotch strap; included bumper bars; magnetic closure mesh peek-a-boo windows; true zippered pockets on the back of each seat. The Snap Duo Trend, with air tires, is perfection for me.

    which one has he better push in your opinion? it is my understanding that the valco does not have suspension? i am looking for something light and compact as a second stroller as we already have a double jogging stroller. this will be my leave in the car stroller to take from a gravel parking lot to the grocery store, to the playground that has gravel path, grass and woodchips, to around town with uneven surfaces.....I will purchase the all terrain tires for the valco I am just wondering if that is enough? loved my umbrella stroller with just one child but with 2 there is no way. my umbrella stroller is high end with all wheel suspension....thoughts?

    • @PerpetualMommy
      @PerpetualMommy  Před 3 lety

      Sorry I am just seeing this comment/question. The SDT push with AT wheels is very smooth/easy and is our every day stroller of choice...but, even with AT wheels the push is not the same as a great suspension push over extremely gravely/uneven terrain. All that to say, for everyday normal road/dirt/gravel the SDT with AT wheels is great.

    Hi. Can you compare the snap duo to the new city mini GT 2 double? I know the city mini GT doesn’t sit up very straight, is the snap duo the same way in its most upright position? Thanks!

    Such a great review! Just a few questions. 1. Can you fold either stroller with snack trays attached? 2. Are valco materials machine washable? If so, how hard are they to remove? If no, are they as easy to wipe clean as CMGT? 3. How much extra do valco air tires weigh in comparison to stock tires? Thanks again

    • @PerpetualMommy
      @PerpetualMommy  Před 6 lety

      Hi, and thank you so much! To answer your questions: 1) Yes, the stroller can fold with the snack trays attached; 2) Some parts of Valco strollers are removable, but some are not- I am fanatical about keeping my strollers clean...damp washcloth, or baby wipe, and our Valco cleans up perfectly; 3) I am guessing a bit, but I think the air tires add about 2 lbs total. 😊

      joanna santiago Thank you for the amazing compliment! As far as I am aware, neither of the strollers come in bright colors such as pink or yellow...the GT comes in a teal and a crimson as far as colors go. Valco favors classic colors such as shades of grey and black. 😉

    Which do u prefer the snap duo trend or the neo twin? Is the snap duo trend more narrower in the seat? My 3yr old daughter likes the step in the city mini gt to climb into her seat. Does the neo twin have a kind of step to climb in ? Does the snap duo?

      Thank you for the wonderful compliment. I don't own a CMGT, so I can't speak to its cleanability, but the Valco strollers have a water resistant fabric that wipes clean easily with a wet cloth or a baby wipe- all three of my Valcos look brand new (and we use them all the time). :)

    Hello and Thank you for the great review! You really did answer nearly all my questions. I do have just a few...1) Do you know if the Valco Trend can fold with the car seat adapter attached? 2) Can the Valco fit in your Pilot trunk if the entire 3rd row is up/in use? What year Pilot do you have? (my apologies if I missed these in the video!)Kind Thanks!

    • @PerpetualMommy
      @PerpetualMommy  Před 6 lety

      Thank you for the fantastic compliment. 1) I do not believe the Snap Duo Trend will fold with the car seat adapted in place (but, I am not 100% sure); 2) If the 3rd row is up in my Pilot, I can put the stroller in if it is on its side.; 3) My Pilot is a 2011. I hope this helps. :)

    • @PerpetualMommy
      @PerpetualMommy  Před 5 lety +2

      These two strollers are very similar in push, canopy coverage, and in under-basket size, but I vastly prefer the Snap Duo Trend as I can't stand the way the City Minit GT folds-- it is awkward, and the fabric tends to look disgusting as the stroller fabric that the child sits on is what comes in contact with the ground (and all the filth and germs) when it folds. I can't say enough good things about Valco Baby's Clean Fold Technology where the stroller folds in on itself instead of outward like other strollers. I hope this helps.

    Thank you for the video. There aren’t many videos on the Snap Duo Trend. Since I can’t test it in store, do you feel the Snap Duo is more compact overall than the City Mini GT? The GT seems a bit bulky so considering an umbrella for that reason but I like all the features of the Valco Baby! Thanks!

    Thank you for the video demo! Super helpful as we are debating between those two! Two questions-do you know if the Valco can add a third toddler seat? Also because the valco is so lightweigh, does it still feel sturdy? Will it topple over easily you think? Thank you!

    • @PerpetualMommy
      @PerpetualMommy  Před 6 lety

      Hi, I am so glad the video was helpful. The Valco Neo does not allow you to add a third seat, but the Valco Tri Mode Duo X does. The Neo feelsstudy, but it is extremely lightweight-- if you were to hang anything from the handle bars you potentially create a tip hazard. I never hang anything from my Neo, but I do use a stroller console.

    Hi thank you for such a great video. I know these aren’t jogging strollers but are they good to take to the park for walks ? I plan on walking a solid 30 minutes about 3 days a week and the park I go to is a bit hilly and somewhat bumpy but it’s not lose gravel. I’m wondering if any of these 2 would be good for that sort of terrain. This will also be our regular stroller for use outside of the park so i want something that will hold up. Newborn & toddler if that makes a difference

    Thanks so much for posting this review, these are the two strollers I am trying to decide between. I am just hung up on the seat weight limits, 50 vs 45 lbs. is this a recommendation for safety of the child ? Would this sway your decision on which of the two to choose? Thank you!

    • @PerpetualMommy
      @PerpetualMommy  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi, thank you so much for watching, and for your sweet words! So, this is a bit of a complicated question. I make super tall and skinny children, so head height room/clearance is much more important to me than weight capacity-- my girls will probably be six or seven before they hit 45 pounds. That being said, I have two friends with Valcos who regularly put 55 and 60 pound children in their 45 lbs per seat strollers. Valco only tests the stroller capacity to 45 lbs, so that is the safety limit they will back/support...it does not mean that is all the weight the stroller can manage, just all that it has been tested to. I don't want to tell you it is okay to go over the listed weight limit as safety is a priority to me, but I have seen it done numerous times without any issues- would tell you, follow your mama gut with this one.

    • @PerpetualMommy
      @PerpetualMommy  Před 6 lety

      Okay, so I just looked at the Valco website, and you are correct-- the light grey is listed as Grey Marle and the darker as charcoal. Please remember, I had the prototype stroller that came to me a year or so prior to product launch, so it is very possible that the product color name changed from what I was told the color name was. I will amend my previous responses to reflect this new information. So, to summarize, you are correct, according to the information on the Valco website, the Snap Duo Trend prototype I reviewed was in the color charcoal. Sorry for any confusion, and I appreciate you catching this and bringing it to my attention.
