V Rising is an isometric survival RPG in which you play as a vampire and a game that I’ve covered multiple times on this channel since its initial early access release back in 2022, The last video I made about V Rising was actually the video that I was most proud of releasing back in 2023 and was an hour long, full completion review of the Gloomrot update.
Well now V Rising has finally left early access and is a fully complete product and along with that another absolutely massive update bringing new bosses, a new zone, new mechanics, improved progression, and items at all stages of the game.
In this video I’ll once again play through the entire game and take on every boss eventually leading up to the brand new end game gigaboss, Dracula The Immortal King.
What do you think about V Rising with its full 1.0 release? has this update made you want to finally purchase the game? what more would you like to see added to V Rising in the future? let me know in the comments below!

Oh, great, another useless sponsored video. Enjoy the money, Peon.
I will :) And mainly due to you sponsored film
Enshrouded recently added the storage and crafting, so you don't have to run around and find the materials in 200 boxes all over. I think that is mandatory in survival games nowadays.
That's been out for a long time
@@treytose3 I think your definition of "a long time" is probably very different from most people's lol.
that was out on launch with the magic chests.
Yeah, ever since Palworld and Enshrouded introduced me to that mechanic, I've been spoiled ever since; it's such a good QoL feature!
they did that on release lol but i agree all games should do this now, there no reason to have to mess around finding resources
They changed the whip in the live build. This is pre-release beta footage.
It now unlocks much earlier andSimon teaches the upgraded version. They also made a full graphical overhaul, most bosses have an improved model.
Super happy with the update.
"adam the firstborn, whom I still have ptsd from" me too man, me too.
Fun fact on brutal difficulty, Finn the fisherman summons a gigantic adult sea serpent, and many other bosses get new awesome moves, Like beatrice turns into a demon in 2nd phase.
It seems to me that you are missing so much of the game if you don’t play on brutal difficulty. I dint want to run through the game so this is what I’ll be playing. I understand it’s not for everyone
I watched every one of your V rising videos. I really enjoy them as much as I enjoy the game. Thank you!
Adam the Firstborn sends shivers down my spine...after many attempts I barely scratched him, lol. The mechanics and movement required were way beyond my limits as a gameplayer.
Hardest boss in the game imo, harder than Dracula
@@TheLazyPeon Do I now need to beat Adam to take on Dracula?
Is the gear the same you fight Adam with or better in 1.0?
@@TheLazyPeon Brutal Dracula would like to know your location
I had to reset that fight so many times and learn how to master each of his phases. It took me an entire day; I beat his ass inside the center box w/o taking out any lightning generators using the highest tier pistols. It felt good but I really don't want to do it again b/c all it takes is one slip up on the last phase to ruin it all.
It's might just be because I struggled on Adam in a previous playthrough and his Moveset is ingrained in me. But I had a harder time with Solaris and the winged one which I remember being easy was a bit more challenging with those damn crows!! But I walked through brutal Adam on the second attempt
The Castlevania references were so cool, getting the morning star whip almost feels like a spoiler i would've lost my mind if I got that to drop
Me and my wife have played through all the updates though early access. Super fun game, probably my favorite survival game. I hope this game gets big.
I absolutely loved it too. havent played it since it's initial alpha/beta release a couple years ago. It still seems to need at least more gear to farm in my opinion.
I think Simon Belmont appears later because he's a crossover Castlevania character 😊
Big praise! Definitely on my to-buy list. Thanks for the review.
Dang was hoping for another 1hr long vid love the other one
V Rising is seriously underrated. This game is sensational. Wholeheartedly agree with matts being automatically removed from storage when crafting. I can't believe it's not in it already. Great review.
Always love me a TheLazyPeon vid. Big fan! Love from Aus
Played V Rising after you released your first video on it a few years ago. Still love it even now
Looking forward to getting into this with the 1.0 launch. It's been a good time during its EA and I'm so glad they added even more bosses and now some outfit customizations which were sorely lacking before.
One of my fav games in recent years.
The base relocator building in isolation is an amazing QoL tweak to the game it was pretty tedious moving bases in early access. Props to the dev team on that change, and thanks to you for putting this game back on my radar!
Love this game! Just launched a review of V Rising myself! Keep up the great content! Subscribed!
Love the game to bits, though one thing I should mention that you seemed to have missed is that the recipe for the Iron Whip actually drops from Domina the Blade Dancer, which is an Act II V Blood at level 60
I will absolutely buy this game! Was waiting for the official release! I'm agreeing with you about the craft, would love to see that mechanic add to the game, items should stay in the chest will giving me my option in the crafting station. :D
now the devs can get back to making battlerite 2
Oh god, I hope so
I got really mad for paying for this shit, and it became free to play just before being abandoned. I decided to never pay for another stunlock game
@@TheCaitron oh damn , that sucks, i was going to buy the game but hearing this made me not buying it because i have the similar experience with another game dev
@@IhafLove I still play Battlerite to this day. The previous commenter is complaining that they bought the game right before it became free to play, but the game is still up and working. They didn't shut down the servers.
Also, V Rising completely works in local solo mode, so it is even less of a concern. And the multiplayer is peer to peer so even if they shut down their servers in 15 year, you'll still be able to play with your friends.
I pray, just remove rook and that game is a masterpiece. I would spend everyday playing it.
Unfortunately for games to be popular they have to have brain dead op champions or noob players will give up immediately.
Excellent review, game looks great
Just watching this video after seeing the game coming out on ps5. Love your calm and positive review! Especially how happy you got when you got that longbow 😹
Thanks for uploading mate 🇬🇧🦊
Another awesome video from LazyPeon. Thanks for your hard work bro!
First timing Dracula was insane, took me about an hour to beat him. Great vid!
compared to his brutal mode, i was looking at it like: 'is that it?'
Really enjoyed the game at launch but I struggle with isometric type games that don't have controller support...I lose my cursor sooooo easily that it makes combat super frustrating. With it getting controller support now, I'm definitely checking this out again!
I had to give up playing MOBA's due to my poor eyesight making me lose track of the cursor so I feel you
I'm looking forward to the eventual V Rising PS5 release so I can just chill on my sofa and hunt bosses
Don't expect too much, unfortunately the controller layout and everything is a mess, controlling your character is a chore using controller.
hi mate love the video just a heads up on the whips simon does give a recipe to craft whips but its the Sanguine version of the whip to craft normal whips you must kill Domina the blade dancer also if you play on brutal mode all bosses have extra skill/movesets
Love this game to bits.
Great vid, ty!
Been waiting for the official release for a while. I just bought it for the PS5. Very excited to play it.
Gotta give this another playthrough now that its fully released. I didn't quite complete everything last time, anyway, but man this a great game.
yo, hope you are doin good mate. Just wondering what the status on "Life Is An MMORPG" pt.2 and pt.3 looks like (since the last one was 2 yrs ago). Are we going to get an update to that?
I think proximity or room restricted chest pulls would be great. Seems easy to implement as there are already set pieces. Must be a philosophy at play for this decision.
I wouldn't mind an expansion at some point that has you defend your vampire castle against invaders who are trying to destroy your castle heart, along with maybe more random events? The carriage events are really fun, as is most of the new content, I am hoping that the hallowed mountains will be expanded at some point? It feels really small as zones go and just makes me wish we had more to do in act 4. As right now there really isn't any new zones you haven't been to in act 4.
Though I do hope they add more to this amazing game and expand it even further.
Loved the video! Side-note, Styx isn't actually a new boss. He was originally a wandering boss in the cursed forest, looks like he was just promoted and got a slight redesign. Still super dope, though.
Ahhh I remember now, I did briefly wonder why the roaming cursed forest boss wasn't appearing, didn't realize they redesigned him.
@@TheLazyPeon Yeah, I didn't even realize it was him in the video even after you said his name until I saw his moves like 5 seconds later. Before Adam, Styx was my personal fucking nightmare lmao.
No rest for the wicked is slightly similar and im loving that at the minute! Defo gonna give this a go at some point!
8:45 This oddity was a beta only thing, for the full release they changed it so you get the Whip earlier from Domina, and an upgraded version of the Whip (Sanguine) from Simon Belmont.
Even if they don't make it a general convenience to be able to pull materials from chests without having to go to them, it would be a great mid-end game QoL to add some craftable magic thing you place down or special chests that allow this.
Or, you can build your castle to optimize it for quick retrieval of materials.
With the castle mini teleporters this is an easy feat.
Adding the craft from containers could mess with the point of using the crafters, where depending on the items you put in, it crafts the respective item
I think grabbing resources from all chests is overkill. But what they have now is very cumbersome. A good middle ground is if they allowed you to craft workstations or upgrade them so that they can grab materials from a short radius around them.
Has the performance gotten better? Used to not be able to reach over 60 fps
everything really looks good and much more fun sine its release, ill go back playing ths game again
Damn nice to see that Stunlock managed to pull this off. Played both bloodline champions and battlerite quite heavily but was quite sceptical about this
Hey. Don’t know if you are looking for recommendations.
But I think a review from you on Solo Leveling Arise would be fun.
I wasn't sure about going back but being able to change the resource rate on a private server is huge
I would 100% recommend doing brutal but boosting the stats the gear gives you if its too challenging as is. The new boss mechanics are 100% worth a replay
Thanks for the great review, this game has been an easy 9 for me.
So do the scheduled servers wipes that happen every 3-6 months really wipe character data too?
Nice! I've been left wanting for a satisfying ARPG after Diablo IV just did not scratch my itch.
Have you tried last epoch?
@@craciunator99 not yet, but I've heard good things about it. Isn't it still in early access?
@@Teh-Penguin Nope fully released now and only $35, half price as diablo 4 and way better.
@@craciunator99Oh, I might try it then. Thanks. I just don't like early access ^^
So cool !
The luck to get the morning star as your first legendary weapon drop. One of the best 😂
Brutal mode is a bit like Tactician on BG3. Health and damage for enemies is increased sure, but the bosses have new mechanics for that mode too
I played the vanilla and Gloomrot update and I think I spent enough time managing crafting materials, to playthrough a small indy game xD deffo agree that it's one of the few points of improvement for the game but also agree with the 9/10 rating or maybe even higher after the inventory stuff. Good games still exist
just gonna correct some misinformation in this video:
you unlock the base version the whip weapon by killing Domina in rustlock village in the gloomrot south region.
the version of the whip you get from killing Simon Belmont is the 'Sanguine Whip' which is the highest tier of crafted weapon, and required to be made in order to forge the legendary version 'the morning star'.
"Simon the Vampire Hunter" LOVE the Castlevania 1/2 ref! Well done devs!
Are you planning on playing Pantheon's early access at all?
Highly recommend playing through brutal. They add mechanics that are brutal only and completely change the boss fights
Currently playing Brutal difficulty with 3 of my friends and it is as it states: BRUTAL. You have to make sure you're well prepared for everything and everything hits you like a truck and all bosses have new mechanics which is cool. You get special achievement progress for brutal mode so I'm enjoying giving it a solid attempt. We are in Act 3 currently and once you get good at boss mechanics it's not too difficult. Just the slightest mess up could wreck you though. Played through this game multiple times and normal felt just wayyyy too simple so brutal mode is deff a challenge I was seeking coming back.
Brutal mode is absolutely Brutal thanks amazing info shared 😂
thx for vid
Can't wait to play this on my PS5...It looks pretty fun
The top requested voted for feature is crafting from storage on their own forums. Hopefully yours and many others feedback will get to them because we ALL mostly agree as a majority. For whatever reason they are very reluctant to do this, but I think they are imagining a huge/complex compromise using the whole castle, when all that needs to happen is to allow the boxes to have access to the crafting stations within the specific rooms they are placed in; they can attach it to the flooring type, it doesn't matter, just please do it!! It's a massive time sync and incredibly tedious - something most games in the genre have resolved.
will get this game later this week
what settings do recommend for solo play?
I didn't know its an early access game when i bought it last year xD
Have they added the full controller support that they promised?
The man looks like lewis hamilton, the first to showcase 1.0
It would be cool if there was a boss called “Todd: The Starbucks Barista” you know, to make it more badass.
Let me know when they implement the storage thing. I don't wanna buy it until it's fully ready! 😅
This game was by far the best greating vampire game of all time. I have to say over the years they really did great up expanding the game with content updates, patches, and expansions. Compared with Enshrouded and Valheim this game is awesome for being a Survival RPG Game.
Totally agree, one of the best games i have played in the last 10 years across all categories.
A game does not need an infinite replay loop to be great and V Rising proves this easily.
I think to get the best experience from this game playing on Brutal Mode is hands down the way to go.
It will enhance the satisfaction u get when u actually manage to kill a boss you struggle with.
Especially the Dracula Fight, which has a little surprise for u on Brutal Mode compared to Normal Mode.
Regarding the Storage issues, my solution to it was to just put the resources i needed for my upcoming craft into the actual crafting station rather than the storage unit, the storage unit i only used for excess materials.
The game is a progressive game by nature so being progressive about your crafting goes hand in hand in order to make the crafting smooth and efficient.
I played through Brutal Mode in it's entirety and beat it but i never felt like the crafting was tedious because of how i progressively looked at the crafting ahead of time for what i needed.
All in all i'd give the game a 9.8 out of 10 score.
It's nearly a perfect game in my opinion and the only thing i felt after beating it and collecting every achievement was the sadness of there not being more to do, that the game had ended for me!
In regard to what i would like to see in the future could be something reminiscent of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night where, if you manage to beat the game on Brutal Mode a new Shadow realm opens up and the game has a completely new overworld map and V - Blood Boss progression arc and in the end we get to fight the real / another version of Dracula at the end of the progression with a new skillset and boss mechanics.
This could also serve to unlock a bunch of cool cosmetics or additions to the castle building feature.
Maybe add some more crossover bosses and character interactions from the Castlevania Lore?
Maybe add some more weapons / Spells etc
How does playing with friends work with difficulty scaling now? That was a huge issue me and my friends had before where basically it was MUCH harder if you played with your friends.... Anyone know?
Seems like they kept some of the core fighting mechanics of battlerite in this 🤔 might check it out
Is this game just pure lobby based that resets each time you mak a new lobby?
rather you like the gameplay, or not. It looks, beautiful.
Hopefully someone is still answering this. Is the game worth the preorder? And is the Castlevania stuff good? I'm really interested in it mostly cause of Castlevania but haven't seen much of the game
sponsored -> leaves a review.
My only concern is controller support. I want to play this on my Steam Deck. How well does it translate to controller?
16:13 ''ooweee'' As it seems those muay thai trainings are getting into you now :D Great.
Storage and crafting tables in any survival game being linked, should be a standard mechanic, it's pretty sad that we still have to beg Dev's to do this.
R.I.P Battlerite Royale never forgetti
V Rising has for me, one of the most immersive soundtracks, I just get lost in it, in the game I can just end up not moving in my castle, and relax in the castle.
Stunlock has made a top tier game in my opinion, and they listen to the gamers and take in feedback so well.
LOL brutal smack to the mouth. I may have to start over again, I was going to continue on my current play but this inspires a possible do over.
i literally am stuck after 20 times on the bandit king, XD
getting this game!
I have vague (likely incorrect) memories, that at the time put me off trying it out; as someone with not much free time. I recall the player base would degrade over time (or was this only multiplayer server based? or is it always server based even if solo?), and just thinking that woudl be needless stress for single player. (I don't play games that drive you on FOMO or degredation, life is too short for games to add stress as a motivator); am I wrong?
Damn bro! How you beat it so fast!?
Ya, back in the game for the 3rd go around!
It still took him a while. He basically did a speed run of it with all the multipliers on max.
@@drowseh Appreciate it bro!
Beatrice is my regular go-to clap
Is there a compelling story in this? Or is it mainly about grinding and crafting and stuff?
The story is not interesting at all
I'll play it again once you can pull items from storage at crafting benches and not a moment before.
Have anyone played 1.0 with a controller? How does it play?
I would like to know too
I played 7 hours no issues…
I do think they should have resources pull from storage at least if it's in the same room as the crafting table as to not make specific storage pointless
Is the boss Belmont reference to the Castlevania? Loved that show.
Yes, Castlevania in general
Why is your voice so relaxing ?
This game is simply incredible.
this game looks sick i want it
nice video! looks decent
This game a played 2 years ago lol… and was fine back then.
I played V-rising when it first came out with no issues(roughly 100+ fps). but when Gloomrot was added, my PC just couldnt run the game above 30 fps!
was that something they addressed with the full release, I wonder!
It can’t be a graphical problem. My potato laptop can run it no problem.
@@drowseh very odd! might be a software issue on my side; drivers.
