  • When Taylor unveiled their new 724ce and 722ce featuring all-koa construction we were instantly smitten. The satin finished, natural look of Koa was something we are big fans of. So much so that we designed out own exclusive K24ce that features a satin finish and natural koa; but that's where the similarities end. Let's break down what's the same and different on these great guitars!

    Very good tone.
And the reflective element of that wood is beautiful.

It would be cool to hear both of them in a mix such as in a P&W setting. Hear how well they cut through the mix, if they play nice with the rest of the band and voices. You two are a great team on these demos. Keep them coming!

Oh man, I have a 724 koa but that k24...wow. More koaness and beautiful.

Mmmm Koa, I would have killed for a 400 series koa as a kid. Taylor looking at what a piece of wood could be is awesome. Any chance on more podcasts being recorded? You guys have a great dynamic.

The Alamo Exclusive certainly is the louder guitar of the two due to a bigger body shape. Koa sounds "sweet" I'm not sure if others would agree and the frequencies do get louder and louder as you play it. Great playing as always guys.

Do the wood pick guards get badly scratched up? Are plastic pick guards more protective?

Taylor made some awesome looking koa guitar's in the past. I would prefer one with a Spruce top.
    Great video thanks Dean 🇬🇧

They both sound great but I love the overtones of your exclusive. I think it is funny how people hear the same thing so differently and then tell us what we should have heard.

When I heard a comparison between the 724ce and 722ce, I thought the 722ce sounded better, sweeter and better balanced. Here, the Alamo Exclusive K24e sounds better. Better bass that will get better with time. 65 percent better? I think so, but I already have an unsigned Chris McKee signature Taylor! Thanks

Chris McKee and the guy from Casino guitars with the wild hair make me go play my Taylor after I hear them play online. They pull all the sparkle and honey out each Taylor

The Taylor 722 has a more pronounced bass, whereas the K24 has a more treble mid and top range sound. They are both nice sounding but two very different sounding.

I'm a Taylor 700 series guy. I like the earthy style and the tones are great to me. I bought the 20 year old 714 you used in a video here about a year ago, and I own a 2020 714. I was thrilled to see Taylor come out with a Koa 700 guitar. In Nashville I found a 724 at another guitar store, and couldn't resist taking in my 2020 714 lutz/rosewood to compare the tones. To my ear my rosewood tone was much better in every way than the Koa. The Koa was beautiful, and played beautifully. I'd really be curious to compare the tones of these guitars after a Koa model had the chance to open up. If my pocketbook was larger I"d definitely add a 724 to my stable and happily see for myself. By the way, here I think your exclusive model handily beat out the 722. Thanks for your continued great videos!

Alamo sounds bigger bassier .. but I’d prefer the 722 as I like smaller gats

So the k24 is a higher grade Koa? OK I believe you but I much prefer the looks of the Koa used on the 724/722. I don't really think it's fair to compare these two as they are different sizes. I have a 724 ce Koa and IMO it sounds better than either of these two. Sorry, but the looks of the Koa on the k24 is a turn off when compared to the looks of the Koa on the 722.

Have to stop watching too much promotion of Taylor and Martin...so many other great -cheaper- guitars out there...no balance here anymore
