How do you get/add the webcam borders?
When you right click on the webcam source, an source option will pop up. Under the effects tab there will be an option to add borders.

When I stream graphics intense games, the picture goes pixelated. I don’t think it is my settings, could it be something else?
That happens usually when you are not sending enough bit rate to the stream, hence when there are graphic intense game such as Splatoon with different color moving rapidly, it gets pixelated.
To fix this issue, you either can increase the bit rate, or change the preset to slower encoding rate as well. (ex: fast to medium)
Could I use it as a tool to record instead of broadcasting?
Yes you can! Instead of hitting the stream, you just hit the 'Record' button. :-)
Is XSplit server dependant? If I get a lifetime license and the company for some reason shuts down, will the software keep working?
It's dependent in as much as your account is what connects your license to the program if that makes sense? But even then the program will still open and work to a degree. - chris

Yes! I think the best way to do it would be Window Capture or Smart Capture and select the browser window you're playing it in. - chris
