- Mysticism, Kabbalah, ancient synagogues and Jewish Art . All come together as we walk the spiritual streets of Safed. We will visit the Tsfat Kabbalah center, then explore the lovely Abuhav synagogue. Enjoy meeting artists at the Tsfat art colony. Taste yummy Yemenite "Pizza" ( Lehuhe)

Experience Israel with me while we tour the biblical sites of the holyland
This was my favorite city in Israel. If i lived there I would just study torah and play my guitar.
I would be so happy even if I had very little money
I agree, Tsfat is such a great place. Take care
I love Tsfat. It's such a beautiful, peaceful city. I can't wait to go back.
Thanks for watching and for your comment. much appreciated.
It's Safed dісkһеаd. In 1922 it had 60% Muslim, 33% Jewish population and the rest were Christian. Right now it's 99% Jewish, all the Christians and Muslims are gone
Thank you…almost 2 years later, life here is slowly returning. It remains a center of spiritual growth and challenges.
So glad that things are back on track. Thanks for watching and take care.
What a wonderful city!
Absolutely. Thanks for watching
Very nice
What a beautiful city. How nice to see so many small businesses thriving.
Thanks for watching, take care
I was premature in my previous request to see Safad/Tzfat as you had already done such a video. Thank you. I would love to see more and know more and soon visit Safad/Tzfat in memory of a friend of mine who loved this community and died and is buried here.
I love your videos and enjoy sharing them with my students. Thanks so much for bringing Israel to New Jersey for us!
Hi Karen, I'm so happy that you are watching and enjoying the videos of Israel. Thanks for your kind comments. Take care 🙂

Thanks very interesting. Would would love to know more about Rev Shimon and see more of the town.
Hi David, my Tsfat newsletter has links to more info and many photos of the town. Did you receive it by email? Thanks, DH
I really enjoyed that visit - it looks like a great community to live in, too. That blue is familiar to southerners in the USA. Traditionally, we put blue on buildings (doors, windows, and especially porch ceilings). We call it "haint blue" which is an old way of spelling "haunt." It was to ward off evil, as in the case of this city you visited.
Thank you for sharing yet another interesting place to visit!
Thanks for your wonderful comment. I was no aware that the blue color has the same use in South US. I wonder how it arrived? Maybe with North African immigrants?
@@IsraelwithDavidHymanYes, I think you could be right 👍 Or maybe from the West African voodoo traditions.
Beautiful 🌻

I just learned about the Safed Circle and it’s historical and cultural significance to the Hebrew People.
Thanks for supporting Israel
Great video!! We will be in Haifa on Norwegian Jade for 1 day from 6am to 8pm on Monday, April 11, 2022. Do you do a day tours from Haifa? We are interested in Akko, Safed, Sea of Gailee and Kibbutz. Thanks!!

1. Thank you for the tour and video.
2. How did your “wrap(?)” meal taste?
3. Thank you for the tour of the synagogue...especially discussing the different parts. Thanks to the synagogue for letting you film it.
4. How did they describe Kabbalah before cell phones?
Hi Richard, thanks for watching and noticing every detail... very much appreciated that folks out there are showing interest. The "Yemenite wrap is called Lahuch and was delicious. Its has string cheese flavours and spicy. Great question about Kabbala.. haha. My answer is that Kabbala is an attempt to explain the secrets of creation (birth and death) by searching for clues and answers hidden within the biblical texts and interpretations. How and who ignites our soul? When? When one dies, what happens to all our knowledge? Our experience? Our feelings? Where does it go?
The wrap meal was the most Safed thing ever: The hippy dude who wanted to give his message so earnestly it required a camera cut then explaining how his wrap is baked not fried while clearly frying it uncovered in a frying pan was too much.
The best part was, "It has no oil," followed 30 seconds later by, "Now I add some oil."
All the best from taroudant morocoo
Thanks so much for watching, take care
The blue 💙 color is supposed to represent heaven and to remind you of God and to live a spiritual life
Thanks for you insights and commentary. Much appreciated.
@@IsraelwithDavidHyman My pleasure 😊
Yes they have The Blue Pearl 💙 city in Morocco too.
Thanks for the update. We haven't been to Morocco yet, it is on our list.
@1:13 the house roof on the right
If it was in the USA, there would be raccoons and/or squirrels inhabiting the crawl space.
Thank you for another wonderful tour, David.
I'm curious. In so many of your videos, landmarks are written in Hebrew and English. Why English?
Hi Lynder. Thanks for watching. We don't have raccoons or squirrels but so many cats everywhere. Yes, we have English on many signs, to accommodate all the visitors and tourists who can't read Hebrew or Arabic.

Wasn't that art studio was a mosque?
no, there were never any mosques in Safed which has always been an orthodox Jewish city with two famous synagogues.
@@gisawslonim9716 Seriously? You lie about this while a big Souq mosque in the middle of city is turned into art gallery? What is next? That's synagogues of you are actually mosques?
@@gisawslonim9716 Like there were never Palestine and when you saw Shimon Perez's Palestine passport you said Palestine was Jewish?
