How do skin-checking apps work? - The Medical Futurist

Skin-checking apps allow users to capture suspected skin lesions and submit them to a server; the images are then reviewed by an A.I. algorithm, and the results are validated by a dermatologist.
They're great because they make use of a tool you already own: your smartphone! Plus, they could prevent skin cancer.
