I do believe a high episode counter like this scares a lot of people off. They prob think they need to start at the beginning, without ever having watched anything before. So they just don't watch. S2E1 is a good idea
Completely agree. And to add to this, it makes it easy for people to differentiate between the "1.12 server" and the "1.19 server", in case someone tries to replicate any builds.
Stampy’s LP and Xisuma’s Hermitcraft, although I much rather have S2 instead of a massive number
Such a good storage. I know I shouldn't expect anything less from Scicraft but this really is amazing.
I think the key takeaway is the storage system acts like a vending machine, so it should be decorated like a vending machine respectively.
The storage system is the first time I think that I’ve understood absolutely nothing. Usually I can at least make some educated guesses but this is incredible. I can understand why it took years of research and developments. Each component is very intricate and this system really embodies the idea of “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts”
Same I watched 29 minutes didn’t understand one thing however I still watch 29 minutes just for the pure Genius behind the whole thing
I showed this storage to a friend that is a server owner and he cried out of fear
It's almost all hopperlocked anyway XD, probably one of the less laggy machines on scicraft
it is 1,4 ms when idle, 5 ms running. You would need 10 of these storages running at the same time to actually affect the performance.
@@jorvp And we have about 200 players, most of which would be very willing to attempt this lol
I think starting at episode 1 would be great. I got into scicraft a couple of years ago but it took me awhile to become invested due to the huge number of episodes. Now I’ve reached a point of no return and even watch the streams (particularly you, jor and fox).
I love how each of you have your specialty. It makes for a much more interesting server.
@Casey Riley Some specialize in tree farms, flying machines, storage tech, mob farming, compacting, code digging, etc.
This storage is so overengineered (in a good way) and has so many useful functions, I love it!
@@oreoicecream1829 they encode each item into binary using rails and observers (there are 8 powered rails to represent the 8 digits, observers underneath only detect input from certain rails on each line (each line has a different configuration of observers) making an item any combination from 00000000 to 11111111. Then they encode that binary signal into a single signal (like morse code) that turns turns on and off in sequence which a seperate decoder can then decode back into binary and moves redstone blocks from a hopper, allowing items to move for only that specific item.
@@oreoicecream1829 They made a cloud storage system for their bulk storage, it's insane. Binary into serial into binary is in a simplified way how the internet works
this storage is one of the coolest contraptions I've seen, idk it's just really satisfying to see such a complex system work
174 episodes of Scicraft. Crazy how many it has been. I've been here since almost the very start and not once have I been bored or disappointed by your work (Or that of the other Scicraft members). It was a pleasure and an honour to be part of all of this and I will gladly be part of it for the next 174 episode of the second season! Thank you Ilmango for all of this!!
The mod "Enhanced Block Entities" on curseforge might help with the lag caused by chests. Indium is also needed if you are using sodium
Absolutely fascinating. Item encoding is such a cool thing in minecraft, this was so cool to see.
I love how the scicraft Titels for episodes could also be a casual Modded minecraft lets play title
Next SciCraft episode would be 175 for me
but maybe that could scare off some viewers in the future?
I think season 2 should be in the title, it will distinguish better for new viewers
I think I prefer the Xisuma method of just keeping on counting up. It’s very fun in my opinion. Plus, it might make YT discoverability better.
I prefer for you to not reset the counter, look at xisuma from hermitcraft, they start in a fresh world every time and he still keeps the numbers from season to season. He had a bunch of cool milestones thanks to that
Also I think resetting the counter can be even more off putting because if someone sees you with full enchanted netherite and this huge storage system and illegal blocks on episode 1 what will they think?
to be honest i don't like xisuma's huge episode at all, it makes it hard just to search like "xisuma hermitcraft s3 e1" for nostalgia reasons because i need to scroll through all of them then.
but at the same time i agree that resetting the counter would be offputting for the same reason; i can't just search around easily anymore as i need to remember when s1 ended and s2 started
He was already in the late game when he started season 1 of Scicraft, so I don't see the problem. If new viewers are curious about how they got all the illegal blocks they can always just watch a couple of the older videos.
S2E1 sounds good!
I only started watching scicraft relatively recently, but I'm already hooked. I can't wait to see what you guys can do in the newer versions of the game.
Holding out for that improved enderman XP farm!!
174, I watched all of them and got inspired everytime, thanks for the hardwork and all the hours behind every projects. I think in a way Minecraft needed guys like you to group together to make the best of the technical side of the game and to share it, just as a proof that this game is unlimited hours of fun and opportunity .
Keep the numbers going up
I love how compact everything is all things considered. Very well designed!
Remarkable work guys! Thank you for the content. Excellent way start to the day
season 2 episode 1 seems much better, there's a clear cut from before, and if i ever wanna go back to a video on scicraft, i'm sure it will really help to have season 2 instead of episode something + 175.
Also, episode 175 is a lot, and it's the kind of things that can be off putting for newcomers, no one started watching naruto when they got to episode 400
That main storage is a massive flex.
Wow. Just wow. My mind is blown. This is so hard to understand even in the most simple terms. You guys are awesome and super inspiring.
Y'all blow my brain every episode. It's always so fun to see what unfathomable creations Scicrafters are developing. :D
This is insane. Keep up the hard work!
I can see the appeal of having the 'fresh start' mentality of something alike to S2E1, however as it's not a complete fresh start, possibly using a notation such as "2-175" or similar. That way it has denoted it is Season 2, but still shows it's continuing from end of previous season...? Either that or something like "S2 E1 (175)" could also work to link the two together.
I will keep on watching either way though so makes no difference to me haha :)
I mean series usually continue from the end of the previous season, no? Idk why people would expect a fresh start.
@@ienfrg Though that is a true point in some regards, and I do agree with you for the most part; I also feel it might become confusing when they are contiuning a world without already having the denotion from the start. It might potenially make new viewers confused when they see both 'Scicraft S2E1' & 'Scicraft 78' (for example) is the same server world. I would agree with you though if Ilmango would be willing to go back and rename all previous parts up to now to 'S1E...' to keep the same format :)
@@TheUnluckyLee Yeah they should be renamed 😅 a season recap would also be cool.
for the episode numbers, you could continue with 2 numbers from now on
so the next episodes would be "SciCraft 175 (1)", "SciCraft 176 (2)", "SciCraft 177 (3)", "SciCraft 178 (4)", "SciCraft 179 (5)", "SciCraft 180 (6)", ...
or if you want to put a focus on the soft restart, you could switch the numbers like this "SciCraft 1 (175)", "SciCraft 2 (176)", "SciCraft 3 (177)", "SciCraft 4 (178)", "SciCraft 5 (179)", "SciCraft 6 (180)", ...
I think it's fine to keep the episode numbering. Others have done hard resets and kept numbering, like Etho's LP. Xisumavoid has even kept the same episode numbering through 9 Hermitcraft seasons. Of course it's your series and you should do what you feel is right though.
SciCraft is such a high caliber collection of geniuses - like the Manhattan Project
I can imagine starting off with wooden tools again would be really fun because you could relive the beginning of sci craft again, plus it wouldnt take long to get going back as usual again
Makes sense to me that you are all keeping your tools and enderchest content etc! After all, a lot of people when they start a new world they will tend to get geared up first and then start making farms/builds. This iss more or less the same idea! Excited for what comes next!
Same world, same counter, I want to see Scicraft ep175 in the next days.
Gracias Jorge por la explicación, muchos están interesados en este nuevo storage.
I got into SciCraft before episode 20, not sure off top of my head. I'm looking forward to watching a new episode 1!
If you are going to decorate the bulk-storage you better call it Sahara.
Honestly, scicraft season 2 makes a lot of sense. Would probably prefer that as opposed to keeping everything in this “season”. This is as close to you get to a fresh start.
I feel like you guys also get more motivated when there are fresh challenges waiting for you.
A while ago I was thinking about the idea of linking a regular storage to a bulk storage, but I dismissed the idea, thinking that it would require a lot of redstone and that there wasn't a point to that much automation. Once again SciCraft has proven to me that there is no such thing as too much automation.
Awesome content love it, keep it up.
I understood absolutely none of this. Bravo! I think I'll stick with my dinky little 300-item auto sorter lol
Beautiful, beautiful storage stupendous work xd
Absolutely mind blowing
ive never thought of using binary in a storage system, this is very intriguing
This is sooo huge , probably too big for single player, I doubt anyone could farm as many resources as you guys to fill it , crazy storage 🔥🔥🔥
this episode really felt like a prequel
I can imagine gnembon login, look at the rail encoder and say "that quite a good system... up to 1.19"
Scicraft s2e1 would be pretty cool. Just make sure you go over a brief like explanation of wtf is happening cause it's different to a normal minecraft episode 1 lol. First episodes always get huge metrics too so probs a good idea anyway tbh.
The casual use of barriers as filler items kills me xD
Great video. I think i understood most part of the explanation.
Season 2 would be better. Its fresh start with new farms and designs and a lot of things will change (redstone wise).
Btw, i think everyone is ok that you and others dont start with wooden tools. We want to see crazy tech things like the storage system and not the early grind.
Also do you have a double chest of dead bushes?
174, nice round number
engineering is just beautiful, in all its forms
When ergo started a new world he kept the numbers going cause it was the same series but different world. I'd love to see an episode 175
This storage is absolutely awesome. Unfortunately I dont really understand this because I'm from Japan. Btw I prefer s2 ep1. Sorry for my poor English:(
People who are fluent in english cant even understand it so dont worry this is some nerdy shit
Clear as mud. But I’m sure to be impressed. 😊
Here's to another 174!
26:46 state of the art?
I'd rather say cutting edge! This machine is insanely complicated, but also insanely cool
S2 SciCraft 1: Episode Name
S2 SciCraft 2: Second Name
or
S2 SciCraft 175: Episode Name
S2 SciCraft 176: Other Name
One thing about the storage system that I am not sure yet if I understand it correctly:
Let's say we have three people using it at once. One person uses the bulk call function and the two other people both trigger a slice to request 54 new boxes from bulk. How does the system handle this without skipping a request?
I assume that the slice request and the player request are linked and not just via the priority "brain" shown later in the video? So that the slice request kinda adds two items to the lime shulker box from the player request (Or rather the system behind it) and then the overall system just does these items/requests one by one?
Really complex system but it works and that's what really matters
Love the server. I'm surprised I haven't seen you guys get into note block songs
Noteblocks really need a rework...they are way too limited in their range
for the video title do it like xisumavoid does it. So the next title would be "SciCraft II 175:...."
Just a little storage system
This thing is insane
The thumbnail looks like billions of legos 😜
SciCraft S2 1
Format looks good
I’m on team start from episode 1, but just have a disclaimer for new viewers that this is a new season, a new start, but not a new world. I recently got interested in technical Minecraft and started watching Scicraft. I started with the peaceful series specifically because it was more recent, and only really started watching the main series because peaceful ended. I might go back and watch it from the beginning one day just because I’m bored, but for the most part, I’m not too inclined to do so because I know that some stuff is no longer possible in the game because of how much it’s changed over the years
ilmango, have you seen Etho's new storage system on Hermitcraft? Wondered if it had applications on your new world?
A good reminder that Minecraft is Turing Complete
Personly I would say this episode is the end of session 2 and thr next would be session 3. Session 2 starting with the first update prep
Jorvp coca-cola
"About a hundred thousand of each item" so like an hours worth of running on each farm
for titling episode you could do say 2-175 if you want to keep the episode numbers consistent
nice
0:48 lol at the OnlyPants sign
Hi! Amazing work, as always!
About the episode numbers, I personaly don't care: I will watch anyways, whether it is E175 or S2E1.
But *maybe S2E1 would be better to attract a new audience*? I think it would be easier for a newcomer to start with season 2, rather than to have this feeling "I'm watching an episode, but to understand I would need to watch the 174 previous episodes". Also for you, explaining things assuming that everyone knows what you are talking about (ie if you choose E175) is different from explaining things as if people are new to your channel (ie if you choose S2E1).
definitely do scicraft season 2 episode 1 cause otherwise new viewers might be scared off by the fact that there are 174 episodes they haven't watched
It's like Sahara from Hermitcraft... Except better in every way!
S2ep1 would be clearer for everyone, new people discovering scicraft would really see the difference and those who have been watching for a long time would know better a what episode we are.
Calling it season 2 sounds good!
I am exited for season 2 and like the idea of the new numbering system in the titles. I have 1 question though about season 2, how will the otherwise unobtainable items (like bedrock and barrier blocks) be farmed in season 2? Will the 1.12 item be used to fill the double chests or will they be somehow farmed a new?
This is very cool. Seriously, though, what do you guys do for a living? Only electrical engineers talk about binary encoders/decoders.
I'd like you to keep the episode numbers.
3:40 what kind of vending machine has 107 items I’m used to like d12 being the max because it had like 30 items
"We convert binary into a stream and than we convert the stream back to binary" ... Just thinking we are talking about Minecraft game this seems too funny to me :)
I’m not even going to pretend like I know what the heck their talking about 😂
Maybe make SciCraft 200 or 201 ? Are you guys going to Chunk unload old regions of the map to generate new terrain ? (Like once you have all of the items you care about in Main Storage)
Keep going with the number just add S2 at the beggi
imo you should open the discussion by showing the end result. then go into detail explaining how it works
SciCraft new game+
I would say "SciCraft S2 1"
Is this a reupload? I thought i watched something similar that was about twice as long
About binary serial: You just convert the binary code in the space domain into the same code in the time domain? Do I understand that correctly?
Yes, that's correct. Otherwise known as time division multiplexing / de-multiplexing, it's cool stuff!
I don’t think you should start a different episode number. Disuna has tracked all of his hermit craft episodes, and I find that more intriguing than the switch each season, as all the other hermits(to my knowledge) do.
Ep171 Can you do the same thing to obtain player heads by falling block skeleton and wither heads
i would go with "SciCraft 175 - S2E1: Title". it is clear to follow without bloating the title too much.
About releasing the Storage: The Storage will be released to the public once I finish the video. Currently I’m working on the script and also want to fix some bugs that I found while using the storage for the past weeks.
Be patient guys! You will receive the world download and litematic in about 1-2 weeks.
Thanks king 👑
You can't rush perfection!
u da best man this storage is awesome
grande jor
Thank you mr jorvp
no worries, I think a video from you would be better that on person explaining it to an audience through the eyes of another person. I am glad for the videos that ilmango and you did,but it was hard to follow as when you showed something, ilmango didn't necessarily get what you were pointing at which is understandable with what you get inspectator
