I love this scene. Noctis is ignorant that he will never see his father again. My grandpa sent me off like this before starting college, and I never saw him again. Be nice to relatives who truly love you.
That's life. No one goes off someplace expecting to never see their loved one again. I feel Noctis cares for his dad, but he's your typical teenager who's ready to leave the nest and go out on an adventure with friends.
I remember my brother hugging me before his suicide. I remember hugging him back saying "I want to let you know that I really do care about you, even if I don't express it.". Then a few weeks later my parents told me he died by suicide. You don't know how much you'll miss someone until they are gone. Appreciate what you have now.

The lingering PTSD is driving me down and people see that. I have a few friends that help me to keep going whenever I want to "just fade away". I've done what I can by myself, but I also acknowledge that I'll need to seek therapy to full stop reliving the event every day.
So sad how Reigis kept calling him back to say his final goodbyes as a father... I know Noctis felt horrible for acting the way he did before he left. Not knowing his fathers fate after

I don't think Noctis meant it to be rude. I think he was so used to seeing his father as the King he never considered what it was like to just be his son. Usually in royalty having "normal" family time becomes an after thought. You only see each other as the titles you assume. But this scene shows that Regis truly did love his son. If anything, Regis knew the burden Noctis would one day carry. I think Regis only wanted to be with his son one last time.

"Walk tall, my son." When I first saw this, I was like... okay sure. After finishing the game and watching this again... I hear "Walk tall, my son" and it gives me the chills.

I have never been so attached to characters in a video game. This game definitely owns a spot on my top 10 list of favorite games.
Noctis lost his father, his bride and childhood friend, he had to kill his only relative and he also had to die for his kingdom. Never going to play a tragic game like this ever again. Last FF game for me.
I like the story. Bit I do wish they had a alternative ending added to the main story. Luckily we have two alternatives endings; one from Eipsode Ignis, and the other from the novel which I have yet to read.
I love how much Regis loves his son. You can tell by their talk that Noctis is use to his father being overprotective. It's so sad that this the the last talk he had with him. And that Regis knew but Noctis did not. I wish we had more scenes with them both. Also that Regis said "You have no cause for concern" knowing that he was about to die is just 😟
I love this element of the story too. It's kind of rare in Final Fantasys to see loving relationships between fathers and sons, which makes me really love Regis, and is probably why I've been delaying watching Kingsglaive, because I really don't want to see him die.
This scene hits so different when you know it is the last conversation that Noctis ever has with his dad. His dad is trying to say everything he wants to tell him before he dies and Noctis is just trying to get the conversation over with and get on the road. Shit got me crying bruh.

I've played the game all the way through, and the so very casual way they interact with one another makes me smile every time. noctis talks to his father so casually, and it makes every character so relatable. this is my favorite scene in the game because of the teen-ish way Noct speaks with his father
This story is amazing it's just told weirdly but the emotion is unreal. You form a Bond with the characters like no other or mabye it's just me but I actually enjoyed these characters and was scared if any of them died
I have played every Final Fantasy game. This one is my favorite one, I got the most feeling for every character most from all games. This is real family and bromance what you can imagine. Beautiful overworld and soundtrack. And I live this real time fight system way more than the round based one from older titles

noctis so naive , and his dad knew exactly what was gonna go down but kept noctis out of it in order to save him . shame that regis was not the one to slay ardyn but at least his direct descendant got to end the age long conflict

I'm so glad the last moments I had with my mother weren't like this. She died suddenly in a car accident, and I am so GLAD I don't have any regretful last words.
