    Was in that shit pit in 97 as a young offender. But really was a godsend as got shipped out from Feltham so when I landed there was much better the grub was spot on 🤣 . Had a bit of grief from the Middlesbrough boys for being a Londoner but all in all was quite comfortable as only had 7 weeks left

    This is pretty amazing to see. I made a silly mistake in 1992 and was sent here for 6 months. I ended up working as the governor's orderly ! I'd always said to myself that I would like to visit the town again and take a look from the outside. So gutted to find out it's now closed and demolished. At least I got to see my old cell window, A wing - top landing last window on the right. Thanks for the upload 👍

      C wing is still standing and undergoing refurbishment into offices. You can go down and park in the car park and look through the windows. Its a shopping centre now. I delivered to Iceland which is on the site of the gatehouse and managed to get a look around the old C wing. It was quite emotional with lots of memories coming back. I been here a few times as a prisoner and also now as a truck driver. It is worth a visit to Northallerton even to just look through the windows. The oldest building of the prison is still standing, along with the old governors house which was used as the Education Department when I was held there which is the building with the curved windows. The Seg and the healthcare unit still standing. Where A wing stood is now a large public car park and a Lidl on the back of the site. Entrance to the car park is where the old gym sports hall used to be opposite the fire station out the back

      @@stevecampbell7589 No way. So you’re saying there’s a fair bit of the old prison still standing ? Is it recognisable or has it been turned into other stuff ?Wondering if it’s still worth a drive over. I’m in the Lake District so it’s a bit of a trek. Has A wing gone completely ?
      Just watched again now to see my old pad window, noticed the grills over them all. Wonder when they were put in. Sometimes swinging a line at night for a smoke was a lifesaver.
      Pretty good memories from this place. Not that I wish for lock up anymore, but as ‘time’ went, it was quite a laugh in there at times. Plus seeing what happened to the nonces food before it was wheeled round to their wing was worth it too.
      What job did you have while you were there ? I got to be governor’s orderly which basically had me making brews 4 times every day for all the admin staff. Think I got about 6 quid a week for it ! 😂

      @@houseofquad2260 A wing totally gone. C wing still standing and the seg. I think the grills were there when I was in back in 03 to 04. I was a Chaple orderly on the mornings, afternoons I did business studies. I did run a minibus business for a few years upto 2019 when I ended up back inside for upsetting an mp on Facebook after being out of trouble completely for 13 years. I drive a truck for Iceland now, I been down there again tonight delivering.
      I didn't think they had nonces in Northallerton, unless it was changed before I got there.

    The cells had no windows and there only 2 wings but yeah had a right laugh,
    We used to rob burn from are canteen packs and take them back an say there were things missing, bk then we got away with it as canteen was stapled up the stupid cunts so we take out 1 or 2 packs of Backi and get more, Boon was the best at it

      @@bobbrown6721 yeah, they had good staff there when I was there. I did a couple more jail sentences in the adult jails such as Durham, Holme House, Belmarsh, Wandsworth and a little stint in Edinburgh for stealing my own car before proofing in the sheriff court that I am the owner. I settled down in 2007 after I realized I was being a cunt and was released by the government around 3 weeks early due to over crowding. I got married in 2008. Ran my own minibus business from 2011 until late 2019 when I was sentenced to 21 weeks in prison for offending an MP online so I lost my business. Signed it over to a lad who worked for me from almost the beginning. Then by the time I got out on tag in January 2020. I took over the admin side of things but keeping my name off the operating license until the first lock down hit. I still legally owned the business but wasn't allowed any part in running or working for the business which I think is daft. So I sold up, kept one bus and turned into a camper

  • @NorthernGrowsUk
    @NorthernGrowsUk Před 6 měsíci

    I did 5 short sentences in here from 2001 to 2003 all from 4 months to 7 months for daft car theft each time doing half . The prison was divided between the c wing been the smaller wing and A wing the largest wing. The top landing of A wing was half induction half drugs free but the staff was cock on. Most will remember Mrs Bourne miss danvers and Jeff who ran the kitchens and laundry. The prison was mostly Bradford lads and maccams from the north east but had a few geordies and Leeds lads in there. Was 22 years ago and I can close my eyes and be back in that cell in a flash . 32 on the 3s Awing always the same pad. I was in that pad watching my little black and white TV smoking a burn during cleaning the landings watching the twin towers attack live . I had them over on my last day though. I was induction orderly and my job was to issue welcome packs with all bits needed and tobacco but on the last morning I let the lads from Bradford empty the baccy cabinet and got pulled about it in reception but kept quiet and walked with a smile on my face knowing I was no lomger a young offender and would be off to adult jail next time 😂
