  • Mosaic tiles can be used on a wall to create a colourful background to a décor or simply to add small bursts of colour. These tiles are easy to install and harmonize well with other types of tiles. Here, mosaic tiles are used to create a backsplash in a kitchen.
Before the installation, make sure that the surface of the walls is smooth and flat.
If you're tiling over a painted wall, lightly sand the surface first.
    Tools and materials you'll need:
    • Bucket
    • Caulking gun
    • Flat head nails
    • Gloves
    • Grinder or wet-cutting tile saw
    • Grout
    • Grout float
    • Grout sealer
    • Hammer
    • Level
    • Masking tape

    • Protective sheet
    • Pull bar
    • Rubber mallet
    • Safety glasses
    • Sanding paper
    • Screwdriver
    • Sheets of mosaic tile
    • Silicone sealer
    • Sponge
    • Tile adhesive
    • Tile edge
    • Tiling tools
    • Tile nipping tool
    • Utility knife

Thankyou for his video it's very well done and had my full attention right the way through.
I have just renovated our laundry and I am gong to tile from the new bench top to the bottom of the overhead cupboards. We haven't chosen the tiles yet but I would like to use mosaic tiles but with the clear glass type mixed in.

When he started applying the Grout sealer I was like 'That will take some time' Then the commentator says 'After about 10 days' and I was Like 'Yep it would take me 10 days to seal all those lines too!' Lol

My question is when installing these clear type of tiles do you need a special type of tile adhesive as it would affect the look of the clear tiles, well I don't know that's what I'm thinking ???

I'm going to put these mosaic tiles on top of already existing tiled vertical walls as well on horizontal ledges (around the bath) in my bathroom. I'm not planning on removing the old tiles by the way, to much of a hassle and I'm not sure what I'll find underneath these tiles. The former owner of our house messed those tiles up by not using spacing, so I'm now wondering what "glue" he might have used to attach them. For all I know I could be ruining everything if I remove them, if you get my grip.
Are there things that I need to take into consideration, except for the wall being flat (which it is, thank goodness).
    Thanks in advance!

2.17 fixing the second mat you should have turned it upside down first in order to avoid similar white tiles next to each other so it looks like random mosaik.

And the fact that the tiles shouldn't necessarily be leveled they straight to the counter tops otherwise you will endf up with small un even peices

Should of had box extenders put on or longer screws after taping around the wire screws so no shorts happened as the device tabs would hold flush to the tile.

Or you can purchase a grout sealer that you mix with water and apply with a sponge by just wiping it all down with the solution. It's 99% faster than this way.

First you dont just sand the paint , at the least you need to score into the wall and prime with tilers primer , second using a mallet to tap them back ??? no dont use the mallet use a clean grout float
