I own a 2013 ZX14R as we call them in the US. I love my bike and would never sell it. It's fast, comfortable, reliable, has good brakes, reasonably priced, handles well and is styled nice. I don't desire any other bike.
NitrousNinja I totally agree with you I’ve only had mine 7 years because there nothing better to replace it with. I’ll be doing a few bits to it over the winter so please subscribe to see what I’m doing to it. Keep the rubber side down mate
Great review ;) Had my gen 2 for over a year now and I don't think anything could make me change. It's a beast! Totally agree on the adjustments too :) I like to tinker occasionally but generally the bike settings stay the same once I've found when works for me.
Really enjoyed your review subscribed 👍
Recently bought a 2021 ZX 14r, great bike, instant love affair, the power is intoxicating- thanks for your review
Enjoy the sx I went to kawasaki to trade my 16 performance sport on one
After 20mins came back. Will be sticking with the Z 👍
I had a similar experience. At 17 stones I felt stupid on the tiny sx.
Awesome commentary 👍🏅🏅👍
Bought a 2021 plate great bike 👍
Good honest review. How is the buffeting from the wind? I'm looking at buying one to commute 110 miles, mostly motorway. Any thoughts on suitability?
I did a few junctions on the M1 today and 70mph feels like 30mph! It's so planted and stable. Also the riding position which is perfect for me puts you out of the wind blast.
@@TheMatttomlinson Many thanks. I collect a brand spanking 70 plate this week and OMG I can't wait.....
Sounds like you got the baffles out. I've read conflicting info on the Internet about out vs in, what do you think? For me, they stay out regardless.
i would really love to own one, got a zzr 1200 that i absolutely love at the moment. unfortunately i cant justify getting a 2nd gen zx14r since i would want to keep my 1200 hehe
Thanks for your comment. The 1200 is a great bike I would definitely want to keep both. Trying to justify getting a second bike my self at the moment thinking about a Z900RS.
Nice review cheers . Just bought a 2010 model in fairness loved the ride unfortunately even though it had 1 owner from new 45000 miles on it full Kawasaki service history. Put her in for a early service just over 2000 miles since I've had her . Rear bairing needs replacing. Fractured front disc so both need replacing plus calipers . Fuel pump shot needs replacing. 3 month warranty or 1000 mile isn't worth the paper it's written on . Dealer I bought it from is supplying 2 new discs so not a complete wipeout. Guess it's just one of those things . Gotta suck it up .
That’s a shame mate don’t know why dealers do that it just gives them a bad name. You’ll love it when it’s done great bike. Thanks for your comment.
Yes my friend ime sure I will . Had the zx9 years ago which at the time was quick. This zzr makes that feel slow . I've done around 2000 miles in 2 months as I ride to work Monday to Friday. Like you rightly said just gotta control that throttle. Thanks again bud . Take care 👌
How many miles have you done on it ? Any issues ?
I've just purchased a 17 Performance sports. Awesome bike, gearbox not as smooth as Hayabusa's one though.
Unknown Caller nice one no it’s a clunky Kawasaki gear box I think they all do it
@@TheJohnsons81 ahh OK. Glad it isn't just mine!
Unknown Caller let me know how you get on or if you have any problems
@@TheJohnsons81 nice 1 mate will do. Just noticed you filled up at the Texaco in Braintree, i deliver fuel to that garage lol.
Unknown Caller I’m alway in that area there are some good local biker cafes please subscribe to see what else I’m doing to the bike and the ride outs, thanks for your comments
Hello
Nice review 👌
I got vfr1200f
Thinking my next bike zzr1400
You mentioned 40mpg
What is the mileage on average between petrol stations please
All the best 👍
Vladimir
Hello thanks for your comment, I get about 150 miles to a tank I’m sure you could get a bit more depending on the ridding style but not much. Loads of smiles per miles so worth every penny
@@TheJohnsons81 thank you so much for replying
Much better than my vfr1200f
Only 120/125 miles
All the best
I get in the region of 200 miles per tank on my standard ZZR1400. I don't ride it like a racer, but commute at 70mph mostly on my commute....
@@BibtheBoulder thank you
Smaller tank on the vfr had one before the z the z is so mutch better by a good long way
Where are the catalytic devices so to remove it
Was going to ask for you to do a review on bike
Going to look at a 16 plate on Friday in a dealer with 3000 miles on clock but not performance one
Did you test the bike today?
The_Johnsons81 no someone got knocked over on main road to Plymouth and was stuck there for hours will try again Sunday or Monday as daughters wedding today
Phillip collingwood good luck with the wedding
I've got a '12 and have been experimenting with tire pressures. What pressures have you found work best on yours mate?
I keep my tyres at about 40 psi I think they should be 42. If the pressure drops to about 36 I can tell the difference but I try and check the pressure once a week.
@@TheJohnsons81 Thanks for getting back, appreciated. I've ridden mostly at 40/40. The ride is hard but true.
@@tpatrick6902 what tyres are you using?
@@TheJohnsons81 The Michelin Power 5. Not bad. Pretty durable but a strange effect at speeds over 100 mph. The bike takes on a bit of a wobble. The tread? Maybe. A bit unsettling.
@@tpatrick6902 are they squared off at all? Could be wheel bearings starting to go maybe if not that, happened to me on a different bike. Good info on pressures.
