Mint bike! cool to see a mint US import over the pond while I sit next to my 75' rd250 in the US lol. Just took my first cruise on it yesterday and dang is it a fun and awesome sounding bike!
I had a RD200 because I couldn't afford the 250. The 250 of this era would blow all the other 250's into the weeds. My mates had the darker blue model that was a year older. I think they were about £510 in '74/75. Thanks for showing it, it was a real nostalgia trip.
Had the same bike as you bought new 1977 coffin tank great bike £475 quid motorcycle city farnborough my mate bill bought the same bike on the same day . We cut our teeth on those bikes , bill went on to be an angel our paths separated , I couldn't cut their code ..Happy days
I had a YR5 350 (the precursor to the RD350) after my original RD250 back in the seventies. It was a cafe racer style with expansion pipes and that was seriously quick off the line. But my memories have always been with the RD250 my first big bike at 17 after my Moped days. Cheer's mate
Lovely bike m8, It looks mint. I bought one in August 73, it must have been one of the first with the disc brake. Sadly no photos to remind me. Once the rev counter needle went over 5000...boy did that thing go! Enjoy.
Thanks man....just subbed you. The weather has turned to sh1t now and this beauty is strictly fair weather.....Might get a couple of rides in before I vacate to warmer climbs in Thailand for the winter. Hope you enjoy some of my content.........Hallow's gate is a good friend. A brother across the pond.
Thailand sounds very nice indeed, so much better than the cold wet rubbish going on here! My old riding instructor goes out that way every year to avoid the crap weather here, definitely the smart play. & yes, thoroughly agree, Hallow is a top fella, which is why I'll listen to him when he recommends somebody. I'm certain I'll enjoy your content. Thanks kindly for the sub & enjoy the new bike mate. Cheers! - B
Yeah, yeah the older you get the faster you were!!!!!!!!!!LOL I totally blame you Tony for this purchase, all that talk of biking clobber back in the good old bad old days. I looked at a few old photos I had which happened to be with my RD250 coffin tank and before I knew it I was scouring the net..........I guess blame is the wrong word.......Many thanks is correct. I have wanted an RD250 for yonks but they were all very over priced and messed around with.......This one is mint and at very keen price.
......HAHAHA......never reminisce about your old bikes!.....I'm picking this exact model colour and year up tomorrow. I'm a brit of 53 that lives in Colorado. I't's amazing what survives up here in the high desert. I watched your other videos and they are great, you are a good rider too...very calm!
Yeah it's in great original condition. I have the crank seals to change but that's about it. I also have a 72 H1 500B that was in a flood but turned out to be unharmed apart from the flasher relay!
ooh looks nice , Don't think I want to revisit my Suzuki gt380 it was a bag of shite , have fun drum brakes are fun judging the distances at when you should brake at junctions and having white knuckles and jumping on the back brake ha ha , cheers mate
Cheers......I remember the drum brake days well....will take some getting used to the braking distances but easy does it. And hand on the clutch for stroker's is habit I will have to learn again!!!!!!!!!! My mate back in the day had a GT380 and yes it was shit, compared to the lesser powered RD250!!!!! Cheer's
I love a stroker, it was my first real love after my fizzy at the tender age of 17......many moons ago, sadly. Itching to get out on her but the weather is against us now. Great weather for the trail's though..........Can't see a resurgence of strokers myself although the TPI looks and sounds sweet. Cheers Bud
@@HippoDrones Shish kebab been raining buckets.....still raining now. Them trails will be super slick. If you fancy a meet let me know. The services at P.P perhaps?
The engine runs so smooth..sounds also great. Bike is really in great condition. Would love to have some.
Cheers

That is lovely mate, I wonder with the new TPI KTMs if there may be a resurgence in 2T bikes? :-)

Am hoping to ride with Big_Pezza, if you want to join us, drop me a pm with your phone number on FB and I'll give you a holla in the morning! :_)
Am looking at leaving mine around 10am
Looks similar to rd 350
Indeed, They are nearly the same
Price?
does that guy you got the bike off have any other RDs to sell ?
I don't think so
How would a 56 year old 6'2" fit ?
Age not a problem, height not so sure, she is a small bike!!
