Sir my father has arthritis and both the hip joints are damaged, doctors suggested hip replacement surgery but the problem is my father is physically weak, body structure is week(weight around 55, age 58)and he also has Diabetes and BP problem. Can we go for surgery or not!

What do you mean by saying that now you no longer do hip replacement by open technique but only by mis technique ? Do you mean mis technique is a closed technique ? This is not correct. The difference is only in the size of incision . You need to make at least 8 cms incision even in mis technique. Once inside you retract the muscles instead of cutting and stitching them back. Capsule you have to cut in both techniques. Limb length correction can be achieved by both techniques and not only by mis technique...😊😊😊 In fact there are many studies which have shown that mis technique is no magic bullet for hip replacement and is highly patient and surgeon dependent . Nowadays every hip replacement technique is done via incisions which are quite small as compaired to previous years. With due respect you are not the first surgeon as stated by you who has started mis hip replacement in India....It has been there since many years....😊😊😊
