When God wants to do something on earth, He does it through His church. We are His hands and feet. We are His mouthpieces. But the body can sometimes get infected. The church at Corinth was infected with issues that still affect the church today, including disputes within the church. In this message, Skip Heitzig highlights the importance of following biblical guidelines to settle disputes between believers.
This teaching is from the series 46 1 Corinthians - 2021 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

Oh so agree with the fact that a paper bible is so important. Eventually you know where a verse is on the page even if you dont know the exact verse number. I so appreciate listening to Calvary Chapel from South Africa and going through the bible verse by verse.

Die Idee mit dem Schutzengel, den ich im Himmel zur Rede stelle, weil er mich auf Erden nicht vor einem Verkehrsunfall behütet hat, ist echt süß. Hier tritt wieder Skip Heitzigs wundervoller Humor zutage.
The idea of the guardian angel I confront in heaven for not protecting me from a traffic accident on earth is really cute. Here Skip Heitzig's wonderful sense of humor comes to the fore again.

    John 16:12-15
12“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”
    Praying through John 16:13
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit. We pray that we may have ears that are spiritually attuned to hear His voice, eyes that are willing to see spiritual truths, a heart that is submitted to His guidance and correction, and a teachable spirit so that in His grace we may be guided into all truth. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

I am a Christian and i listen to worldly music, sometimes publicly, mosttimes personally. But i strong believe i can control its influence and to some extent the degree to which i listen to it. My question is, as a Christian which is examplert, i would love to edify, should i make my listening private or i should stop completely

If we can't take members of the congregation to court, I will end up in debt and forced to sell my home. I was physically assaulted twice by a sister at the end of the service and the second time she injured my arm. She denies it and I am still paying others to do my ironing and other chores now impossible due to my injured arm.

@@sharonbarren5472 Unfortunately, the elders in the congregation told me not to take her to court and not to go to the police. I did anyway so then the elders told everyone i was to be avoided socially. Good job I have real friends who are not JWs. Then I found out via the Australian Royal Commission that JWs protect paedophiles and tell their victims and the victims' parents not to go to the police or take the paedophile to court. Alarm bells rang in my head. I realized that I was in a cult that only care about their reputation - they certainly don't care about those that are abused by the elders and other brothers, and couldn't care less about protecting the congregation, certainly not the poor children. So in January I excommunicated the religion in writing and handed it in my hand. Am over the moon I free'd myself from that brain washing cult that breaks the law constantly.

In the case of sexual abuse within Christian churches, it is better to refer the matter to the secular authorities for investigation. Within the community, such a case is usually hushed up.

    • @dancalkins97

Most likely. I would say 1 Cor. 6 would refer more to cases that would be civil and not criminal.

So he's not a pastor at this church anymore because of a big argument with a larger church.
Alot of sexual accusations and not financially fit.
Guess they didn't resolve their dispute.
I pray he's okay today and everyone involved

I hate that this video is the first that people find when truly seeking Gods word in this verse. Skip jumps to what is seen when you just blurt out words versus true study of the word. Don’t be shaken by his lack of true digging.
Read this: 1-8 gives clues to understand verse 9. Verse 9-10 refer to non-believers. The unrighteous of verse 1 and 9 are the same. The sins of 9-10 are used to describe the nonbeliever. Verse 11 points out the identity of ALL believers. Meaning…if you’re a believer…verse 11 goes to you. I believe that these sin lists are talking about unbelievers who do not have the imputed righteousness of Christ (Romans 4:5) and therefore are still seen in their sins.
Contextualizing these thoughts in the different verses tells us that if you’ve accepted the free gift of salvation then you will be with the Father in heaven…period!! Those that will not inherit the Kingdom of God…are the unbelievers…period.
Dig deeper “pastor”! But again…you said…it’s “not your problem”.
