- This is a difficult part to polish so Ive laid it out step by step with all the little tricks Ive learned over the years.Starting with a greasy oxidized part right thru the final polishing there should be some good info for everyone interisted in polishing anything made from aluminum.ENJOY AND SHARE.
The End results are well worth it. Amazing. Nothing like a Chrome Swingarm. .

I did the same shit & budget on my 2000$
MTB. I'm like you on this subject. But I did it this way.
80 grit
220 grit
800 grit
1200 grit
2000 grit
Mother Aluminum polish
& TONS Of elbow grease
Looks way better than chrome. Look at it & It will blind ya a few min. 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁💗

that damn hard anodizing coat that the factory uses on the swing arm is hard to get off had to use some aluminum cleaner and oven cleaner but did not let it sit on for too long or it would of damaged the metal.
when u finished all the work and u have this shinny result all u want its to preserve it, in such case i noted that wd-40 its the best wet,foam,or humidity repelant that u can use it literally makes the water drops and dust slide out firm the surface thats why wd40 its used in aeroplanes surfaces

Hey what's up Windy. I have recently gotten into polishing a aluminum bmw m3 head I have. Now Im polishing other things like my ktm dirtbike swing arm. Have you ever thought about having a clear coat painted on the part you just polished to keep it from oxidizing?
