You got guy with just 2 fights in the UFC getting titleshots. So idc who you are if you beat 10 guys in the UFC in a row that's fking impressive.
Cuz there are legit only what a few of them. You got Islam, Volk, Charles, Usman and that's it. Leagues of their own.

I gotta say, I think that first fight KO was one of the best things that could have happened to Islam. It happened early enough that it won't really affect his rankings too much, it demonstrates that he has the skill and fortitude to come back from a loss, it provides a young fighter a certain degree of humility, and(most importantly) it prevents a fighter from having to carry the weight of the "0" throughout their entire career.
Yea, Khabib really needed that loss to be humble and respectful. Plus these guys come from the same place so its not like its a cultural thing....
Do you think deeper than 1 second before you type? Attributing his morals and respectfulness to a loss early in his career is equal parts idiocy and disrespect. Especially when there is a clear example to the antithesis of what you are attempting to claim.

Thats the problem Islam and Khabib faced. When they want to push their rank until they got the title shot, many good fighter avoid them. When they eventually got the title shot, people said they fight nobody tough. But after khabib become the champion, these good fighter need to fight him for the title whether they like it or not because khabib is a champion. After this we will see Islam facing more better fighter than usual
it was god humbling him in that loss, hes a very strong guy with a very high fight iq, hope he learned his lesson.
You can't teach chin. Khabib got saved by his iron chin a couple of times as well. Against Gaethje he took some hard shots, against MJ etc. Islam while very good simply doesn't have that chin.
rewatch Oliveira fight and see how Islam eats the kick from Charles while he is on top of him and come back and tell me he doesn't have a good chin. Not to mention in his KO loss, he regained conscious almost instantly and was barely out. @@weirjwerijrweurhuewhr588

As a kid growing up in the U.S. and studying many grappling arts I always wondered about Sambo. Even though I only read and saw a little on t.v. Based on its philosophy(grappling/striking) I had a feeling that it would be the ultimate art. And here we are today, an invasion of Russian athletes whose base is Sambo and seem to be unstoppable in the MMA scene.
I wonder if they would have been as dominant under pride rules, I mean Fedor was, so it's possible.
