I was able to do a very weird run as the ottomans, I got catholic and was able to get a PU over Muscovy, I tried to get a center of reformation but since i had forced religion with my current ruler I wasn't able to. I joined the protestant league and won religious war. However I was not the protestant leader and didnt become emperor at first, but of course I became emperor later on. It may sound confusing but I would be kinda cool if you could try this yourself and make a video out of it. :) Protestant Ottomans, PU over Muscovy/Russia and emperor.

In my games Englang usually drives them out of the island while Scotland colonizes Africa and starts there again.
