Oshodi is an Edo word the man was being Emotional. Emotions do not change the truth and the facts that the Benin s founded Lagos. according to BINI traditions the land owners do not pay taxes but pay's homage. the Aworis were settlers or foreigners not Aborigines so they pay tax on the land they farm on to Alako of Eko or the Oba of Lagos.

Lagos belongs to BENIN because the nucleus of Lagos (Eko) was founded and established by the Benin which give rise to the present day Lagos.. so the Oba of Benin was right.

The Benin warriors came to Lagos and camped there and sent massage to their oba in Benin to give them a leader who later became king in that camp, but how can a person become a king where there are few of their warriors? It means there were peoples ,many people there to rule over by force and those people are the Aworis(Aworis has meaning too) these are the people who came from Ile Ife to settle in that land by divination.
The Obas of Benin were busy selling and exporting their people and other slaves his warriors can captured to the Portuguese at the height of the Benin kingdom strength, encroaching into other people's territories and dictating to them and the Portuguese and the British government being clever ,selfish and exploiting and exploring took the advantage of him and black people of that time in that area.

Mr man google it Portugues landed in Lagos in 1472 they met the Aworis and ijebus doing trading with them nothing like the Benins ...Portuguese got to know about the Benin from the Itsekiri in 1565/90 after 100yrs of Trade with the Aworis of Lagos island .Portuguese establishment of trade with Benin, brought the Benin Royals to Lagos aboard Portuguese merchant Boat in 1630 ..Benin were more of warrant chiefs for Portuguese in lagos helping them in slave hunting...The were able to make them selves Eleko of a small island in Lagos through the Portuguese and Aromire consent The owner of the land are the Idejo chiefs not the King The Awori

If the land and power belong to the Oba,you are indirectly saying Lagos or Eko belongs to the Oba of Benin, who is infact a son of Oranmiyan, you sir is saying Eko belongs to the Yoruba.
It's common sense sir,or Oranmiyan is no longer the father of Eweka, whose dynasty reigns in Benin. I see no reason why there should be any argument on this matter. It's simple.

Oga rest for the matter. Oba Rilwan Akiolu acknowledged that while it is accurate that the monarchy of isale eko was started by a benin prince, but in the same interview, he categorically made it clear that this in no way whatsoever means that benin has claim over Lagos. So i dont know why you are raising your blood pressure over the matter. There are 500 million other pressing issues affecting nigeria. Ozuo

While the oba of lagos confirms that a benin Prince started the isale eko monarchy, he also made it very clear that that doesn't mean benin owns isale eko. I believe the oba. But benin people, due to inferiority complex, want to claim what does not belong to them. They need to chill!

@@officialmail8489 you be ozuor as your brother Murphy uyi normally call you benin people, that's why a Yoruba man become your small God for you, if your oba say something can't you do research, Portuguese wrote about Yoruba and Benin kingdom and British as well, the question I will ask you is that Yoruba oba gazette by British including oba of Benin and put in in number 3, you guys are not educated in the your state, let oba of Benin come to Lagos and say he owns any place there if aworis won't shoot him and his ile ibinu missed blood, infact that upgraded baale to you are calling oba of Lagos will not save him, you have said you are not Yoruba people then stay and continue to be a slave to your oba, a son of oranmiyan from ife😂

Ok, what has that to do with the matter at hand? So, why didn't stay there and give them all the accolades? You listen to this man and learn from here. He said when the Portuguese came, they saw the Igbos, Ijaw, etc; but the Bini was so much of interest to them due to our civilized and well-organized people...Who was the king of Itsekiri at that and every time till now? Where did the power to rule the Itsekiris came from? Why were they, the Portuguese so much interested in Bini?
You small child, when the elders are talking, have some respect and shut up.
