They're both grown and can decide what to believe and what not to execute. They're incomparable not because of upbringing but because of mindset. As a public figure you must have educated opinions and speak up when you can influence someone positively. Upbringing may influence your mindset but you always decide whether to follow the flock or carve your path.

This comes from childhood trauma, Alia might have been bullied, was told to shut up, had low self esteem issues, was told she is good for nothing and many other things, we don't know.
