- We’re on a prospecting trip that has yielded some nice gold nuggets so far. The streak continues as we metal detect an unfinished spot, just before Clint discovers a new promising gold area.

Not much we can do about the flies. It gets hot under the fly net and you can’t see properly, we have to take it off here and there. Sorry guys, we hope the gold is distracting enough to ignore the little pesky buggers.

Personally I couldn't give a rats toss bag about the flies in the video , only thing I care about is you guys the videos are always bloody rippa's.

Please do not take the net off to talk to us. That is unnecessary in my opinion. Make a comment about it if you want to but don't put up with the flies if you don't have to. Cooler weather is coming?

In North Dakota they rub on vanilla extract keeps the flies away for a few hrs at a time

The flies in the first shot at 0:43 reminded me of an asteroid belt animation. All those asteroids orbiting made me chuckle because I've been in situations like that with mosquitos in Alaska. We used to joke they were big enough to carry puppies off.
They say burning Dried cow pies makes the flies go away. 1 at a time. Nice Gold hunt. I keep hoping you find a Klunker GOLD chunk. :))

I like to watch the video before commenting except please just wear the net. I would not expect a diver with a full face mask to remove it while talking at any depth of water. If people comment about you two talking through the net consider it algorithm boosting not negative. I want to see more videos and you both need to be as comfortable as possible for that to have the best chance of continuing.

Almost as many nuggets as flies! I think it would be nice if you guys gave your patches some names.
They may be small bits, but you're on the gold in an unsearched area with *no trash!*
I'll take that every time over fighting through bits of foil and boot tacks for maybe slightly larger pieces.
I've never in my life detected any place where every signal is a winner. Most of us haven't. Y'all win, ^5!
PS: Try setting out inducers (i.e. roast-juice soaked tissue) on the corners around your scratchings. May help calm the onslaught.
I’d think that with all those small bits and all that quartz around that it would be worth it to try some quartz in the old dolly pot and dry washing some of that soil. Just for a look. And ya need to make a tee shirt that says “Wot flies?”

To help create SMOKE from your fire? you need to add wet or damp wood/ green shrubs. also setting up your fire far enough away as not to get baked as you sleep but put it in a spot the wind will blow the smoke at you. Safety first!
I would hate it so much with all those flys. You'd have to pay me big bucks to put up with that.

Krissy and Clint we bought a 4 person screened room that is light and easy to transport. Was around $70 from kmart but can't see any new except Temu and NZ $199!!!! But if you google around you could even use it at home in your yard for 'happy hour' I don't think I can add a photo.

Flys dont like some smells.
The use of essential oils might help repell them.
Other things they dont like...
Basil, bay leaf, cedar, cinnamon, citrus, citronella, cloves, cucumber slices or peels, lavender, marigolds, mint, peppermint, pine, rosemary, and vanilla oils.
Rosemary+Cedarwood is the BEST

G'day you two. nice to see you back in the Pilbara. Years ago I used to live and work for Mt Goldsworthy mining and there was a small show about 3kl out back of Mt Goldsworthy. there was a stamper out there and I believe it was owned by two brothers who had all the cement brought in from Port Hedland by camels. If you go anywhere near that area I can give you directions. Also near the De-Grey River next to the highway there is a Tiger-Eye mine don't know if its still being worked but you can scramble about looking on the ground there were plenty of banded Tiger-Eye laying about. I must be the only person who didn't comment on the flies as I know only too well how bad they can be, just don't start giving them names or they may want to go back to Meeka with you when your trip is over.
