    Joe could you please, please, please email S1 with this feature: when you exploded pitches to tracks in impact XT, when each instrument goes to its own track, you’ll have the ability to move the notes up and down its own midi track. That way someone can use more 808s in impact and you can pitch them up and down.

    I'm using Windows 10. Is there a way to stop Studio One from creating cache files in every new song that I create. These files take up a lot of storage on my hard drive. If I have some multi-track stems to mix and those files take up 3 GB, the cache files will be the same or almost the same in size. I know I can delete these cache files, but Studio One recreates them each time I open up that song file.
    I store my audio files in a different location from my song file. So I am not sure if that makes a difference.

      Okay I learned something I didn't know! Whenever you import files into your session that do not match the session settings (i.e. you import 44.1k files into a 48k session), you may notice that S1 just keeps rolling smoothly. That's because it quietly (behind the scenes) converts these files to allow you to keep working. This cache is where those files are stored. The cache also makes all the time-stretching features in S1 readily available without taxing the CPU. The trade-off to this is larger cache file sizes, but now that I see how it works, I would say that's worth the trade-off! - Joe Gilder

    • @Mr.Nobody-420
      @Mr.Nobody-420 Před 4 lety +1

      @@presonus I understand what you are saying. So basically, if the sample rate of the S1 session and the audio files are different, the cache will increase dramatically in size, and if they are the same sample sample rate, the cache file size will be minimal.

    Shame on me, but I must confess that I've never ever been able to finish a track on Studio One and I've got it since version 3 and I've been watching your videos before you were an official Presonus member. I bought it because I was thinking that the way to go is the Presonus way, having a DAW and a mixing console/control surface made to fit the DAW. I can't find an easy-flowing way to work and every time I try to do something (last night I tried again) I end up closing the app. It is very frustrating. I work with another DAW and they do have their own control surface but in my mind this is not my perfect set up to work, even when I can work fast enough with it.

      @@presonus Hi Joe, thanks for your interest :-) I have no clue of what my problem is, honestly. To make it short, Ive been a Logic user long before Apple bought Emagic, and after. Then Ableton Live came out and I switched. Then, the Push 2 came out, that is a fantastic device but has no audio interface. Now I work with a SSL Nucleus 2, the Push2 and an UA Apollo x6. For that money I can have two StudioLive 64S, when a 32S should be more than enough for me, and I could have invested the difference in things like sound conditioning, better desk, synths (I'm into electronic music), etc. Update: I finished one track and started to work with it as my "laboratory" using keyboard shortcuts as you say (I don't like diving in menus and sub menus), so, my goal now is to find that moment when you find comfortable enough to switch. Meanwhile, I'll keep on watching to your vids :-) Thanks again and I hope that moment to arrive, better sooner than later :-)
