- Over the weekend, many Christians - especially in the United States - were outraged and offended at a scene that was staged in the opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics. In today's devotional, Pastor House talks about the limits of anger and outrage and offers a better way, the way of Jesus.
PLUS there’s updates and prayer!

Thank you. This was a really helpful devotional.
You're welcome!
I’m indifferent to the Olympic ceremony as it stands now. I’m satisfied that it was not intentional offense, and I honestly think many Christians nowadays seek excuses to claim persecution because it provides an excuse for this kind of angry condemnation. The thought of Christians fat-shaming the lead actor, abusing queer people, and rejecting the idea that others deserve respect regardless of belief is scary to me-I thought that this was a very basic part of Christian teaching (not that I’m perfect by any means). And then I think of the Christian right’s involvement in politics at home, and the cult like following it has among certain sects of believers, and I fear our nation being ruled by an angry, vengeful, twisted version of the Word of God. Scary. None of this is inspiring anyone to be curious about Jesus.
Our hope is always to help people become curious about Jesus. Anything that detracts from that is, in our view, a poor choice.
