Skagway - Driving over the White Pass on the Klondike Highway , May 2017

- Skagway was one of the ports on our NCL Sun Alaskan cruise in May 2017. We rented a car and for most of the day drove over the White Pass on the Yukon Highway.
We are doing this drive in July. This really helps to show us what we are going to see. Great job on the video.
Great video! We took the train up and a van back... I wanted to do this again, but now leaning towards driving. This helps so much! 8 in our party, so we will need 2 cars. I’m afraid of bears! We did not see ONE bear during our whole cruise! Lots of whales though. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏽

My memory is a bit foggy since this was 6 years ago. I did look back at my photos and saw that there were pit toilets at one of the pullouts along the highway. Most likely you can also find a public restroom if you stop in Carcross. I asked the agents at customs, because it is so far down a very steep slope, how many large vehicles arrived with brakes on fire. Answer--none, f they don' know how to deal with steep hills they don't make it this far.
