    Which Oakley do you want with you on your next ride?

      I’m using the flight jacket. Oakley doesn’t make them anymore, happen to have a pair, never fogs up at all.

      @@tituslevico I picked one up. Super easy to swap out lenses on that. Huge eye coverage on those. I use photochromic lenses on that. Since it's versatile to be used during sunny days and at nights. You'll like it if you pick it up.

      @Ronald Weidner Same! I have a Matte Black and it is such a beaut! My problem now is I have prescription glasses. From where I am from, they do not make those integrated lenses. Shipping costs a fortune. I wonder if those 3rd party RX insert works well.

      @@tituslevico oakley does prescriptions on the jawbreaker. It’s not the lens color I want though. I want the photochromic lenses on that thing.

      As the owner of the Trail Torch (like prizm road, but more lighter, i think), I can say that the feeling is cool. The optics are amazing, the relief of the road is really read much more clearly. For the first time, especially in nature on a sunny day, you are like "in Wonderland" (or on acid), lol.
      True, if you make a mistake with your recipe and see one eye better than the other, then these lenses will make the difference even more noticeable, which led to inconvenience.

    Hi Graham, thanks for the review! I was looking for just this kind of thing. Can you list the weight of each one, and the pros/cons of each lens type; i.e. I see a lot of new stuff--why would you choose prizm jade vs prizm shallow water vs ruby or sapphire? Is it just for looks? Thanks

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  Před rokem

      Hey, it's Graham here to answer your questions! First off, thanks for watching our videos, glad you're loving the content.
      To get into the specifics of your questions, let's start with lens options. The biggest difference in the PRIZM lens options will be color enhancement, visible light transmission (VLT), and whether or not the lenses are polarized. Since this is a cycling-specific video you're commenting on, I'm going to assume you are looking for lens info for sunglasses for the bike.
      Color enhancement and tint, is going to be more of a personal preference, though the PRIZM Road lenses offer unique tints that help pick up road debris and other small road details to make your ride safer.
      VLT is going to be particularly important for those long days. The lower percentage of VLT, the less amount of list is getting through the lens to your eyes. For the PRIZM Road lenses, Road Black is the darkest at 11%, while Road Jade allows a bit more through (15%), and PRIZM Road allows 20%. If you ride somewhere with a lot of variable light conditions or on the dirt where you have more shadows, you may consider something lighter.
      Finally, polarized lenses for cycling. In principle, I know that polarized lenses can sometimes mess with depth perception, so you don't see them in sports very often. With that said, I know some people, who like them for on the bike. I personally, don't like polarized lenses for cycling.
      For more info on PRIZM Lenses and all the VLT info, check out this blog and chart: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-prizm-prescription-lenses/

      So to address weight, I'm going to have to say, I don't have the exact tech specs on these frames. I can tell you that they are all very light. The Flak 2.0 XL is by far the lightest, with my personal favorite cycling frame, the Radar EV Path being right behind it. The Sutro is also very light, and the Kato and Jawbreaker are a touch heavier, but not by a lot.
      Hope this helps!

    What do you think of 3rd party RX insert for the Jawbreaker?

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  Před rokem +1

      Hey Titus! We don't have much experience with 3rd party products specifically for the Jawbreaker, but I'd be skeptical of any optical insert to pair with it that is not manufactured/provided by Oakley. We've found that the embedded lens design is a much more effective option, in our opinion.
