  • Part 2 of our 12 day wilderness canoe trip on the Wind and Peel Rivers in Yukon Territory, Canada.
In Part 2 of 2, we continue down the Wind River just downstream of Mount Royal. We head through wild, rugged landscapes and pass through sections with sweepers, sharp bends and some whitewater. We pass through two epic canyons at the Wind/Peel confluence and further down on the Peel. Our trip ends with a float plane pickup at Taco Bar and flight back through the Mackenzie Mountains.
Note: we are not professional guides but are sharing our experience on this route. For those new to canoeing or backcountry camping in the Yukon or northern areas, it is recommended to take a guided trip or to accompany experienced paddlers.
Shuttle and canoe rental: Up North Adventures (Whitehorse)
Float plane charter flight: Alkan Air (Mayo)

What a cool landscape of rocky canyons through the plateau. It reminds me a little of the North Saskatchewan River but with rock walls instead of clay.

Awesome video and trip. I’m planning on doing this trip next year. Is there anything you would have done differently? What time of year did you go and what was the average temperatures? Thanks.

I ended up ordering the book tonight. Had to Google a source since Amazon did not have it and it wasn’t the easiest place to order from.

Nice video, you have a new subscriber. I have a question for you: I see that you have the latest version of the Hubba Hubba. What are your thoughts on that tent? Like:
