We've got a manual slow cooker and use it frequently. Ours has a ceramic pot and to save on the washing up, we buy the slow cooker liners. Very informative vlog as usual, thanks.
Thank you I find some presenters very annoying but you were relaxing. I got a slow cooker as a wedding present and we just put it away but during lockdown we started using it and haven’t stopped using it. In fact our oven has stopped working but not bothered because we have the cooker.
We had a wedding gift of a slow cooker years ago. A stainless steel pot on a single hot plate with no variablity, just on/off and poor instructions. I’ve used the pot many times over the years but never got the hang of how to make this little hot plate feature work for me. Very informative video, thank you.
Very helpful.I have a basic slow cooker and find it useful to put the bowl in the fridge when cooled.Fortunately mine fits though I didn’t maesure for this ! Kevin
The ceramic 6 litre pot from Lakeland's slow cooker is ridiculously heavy. In addition the cooker has no insulation at all, so I can't believe that it really is an economical way to cook food. Despite this, it appears to have good reviews!
The difference between pressure and slow cooking is minimal, but you will save power using an electric pressure cooker, all a slow cooker can do is slow cook, the pressure cooker can sous vide, make yoghurt, cook rice, boil veges , steam, slow cook steralise, air fry and bottling meaning you dont have to find room to store those other appliances, if you buy the right one, after buying my instant pot, i have put away my slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer and sous vide machines
They’re actually is one thing you missed. They actually make or used to make, something called a dual slow cooker. The inserts on these typically don’t come out, and they are usually small, but the one advantage that these have is that you might have a different dish cooking in each insert. Also, here in the states, we generically referred to them as crockpots, I guess because that was the actual first brand of them to hit the market. But make no mistake that if you’re a college student, they are real time saver.❤
I also think that those who invented the dual slow cooker really should’ve equipped it with removable ceramic inserts. After all, you can’t dip those things, heater, and all, into dishwater for washing.

They are great and normally the food from it can be really tasty too by cooking long and at a low temperature.
Great video of helpful things to consider, thank you! Very relaxing voice too, I nearly drifted off to sleep 😂
Best video on this topic on CZcams. Well done!

The best informative video.
I did have one but sold it. Not sure what size it was.
Now I know best size for me. 2 people xx
You should also buy a slow cooker with latches on them so if you drive to a party you don’t risk spilling everything
Thanks for this overview!
Helpful, thanks!
