- I was asked to be a guest speaker for an "Ethic Issues in Computing" class covering right to repair at West Virginia Wesleyan College, so I made this video to assist the discussion. It gives a crash course and basic intro on what right to repair is, and how it effects consumers. I'll add timestamps at a later point.

Apple is like NoOOoOO yoU CaNT JuSt FIx yoUR OwN PrODucT ThAT YoU OWn!!1!!1!1!1!1!!!
Very well explained. Even I can understand it. 🤪 way to go my son, excellent job. I’m so glad you turned to me for assistance in creating this post (yeah right😂😊😜) seriously, you’re doing a lot to educate people on the issues of Right To Repair.
Keep up the good work 👍
Hahaha love ya pops. Thank you for teaching me the religion of duct tape whilst we were in poverty for 25 years. I wouldn't be able to fix shit if you didn't show me what was possible with an empty wallet and a screwdriver.
I think more people should see this. Great Presentation. Summed up the problems with repairability across devices and the critical need for repair.
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it.
As always, love the info (and the humor) you share on-line......BUT....in my case, maybe a video about what I shouldn't touch, tweak, change, plug in, turn on, add, delete, download, etc would go a long way in
George you would make the best software tester in the world, because if it can be broken, YOU are the one that can figure out how to do it! 🤣
The greatest youtube video that ever lived
1 thing missed in consumer benefits, data recovery. Without r2r and storage stuck in the device people will lose priceless photos and data, and manufacturers don’t offer any way to recover data, in fact they usually guarantee you won’t get your data when doing repairs.
Excellent point! I should have included this in the presentation. Thanks for pointing that out!
Awesome video, very well made!
Thanks as always my Peaceful friend! I see you all over CZcams on every channel I sub to! Clearly you have good taste 😂

Late to the conversation, but heres my 2c. In the Navy we are not allowed to use off the shelf components for basic computer repairs. every basic PC we have costs thousands, and worth a few hundred at most. Hdd's are a big issue as well, just a lot of wasteful spending. anyone else in the Navy will agree this presentation was exactly like Navy training lol. at least I stayed awake for it.
a shame that i'm the 4th viewer on this and the first person to like such extremely underrated content.
True, I wish more people could see his brilliant content.
You're too kind. I appreciate you!
Thank you so much for your support. I'm not worried about how many people find me, as long as I have an impact on the ones that do!
good job on the video !
Thanks Soukie 🐻
keeping me from screwing up things in the 1st place.....like I just did with this 2 part post.....🤪🤣
I'm gonna finish the video I had to pause to type this, but it really should be this simple.
I bought the product, and I'll do whatever the f*ck I want with it. Period.
Saying anything to the contrary is shilling for corporate scum.
After watching the whole video, the arguments against Right to Repair genuinely made me sick to my stomach. I really feel bad for you dudes in this industry with corporate filth trying to keep their thumb on you at all times. Truly vile disgusting sh*t. Wish the best for you
A good way to protest for right to repair would be to make a bunch of serialization-tampering modchips (Game console enthusiasts know what a modchip is)
I'm saying a modchip because it seems most feasible to go with a hardware approach to hacking the serialization feature due to mostly being encryption related, which tends to be easier to defeat with hardware than software.
I bet you can't wait to install an "Applin ModKit" into an imac from 2021.
Man I’m with ya 100% but unfortunately i live in saudi arabia where apple only chose one fucking manufacturing company “trained by apple” to repair apple devices so imagine how fucking expensive and time consuming repairs is and that’s if you can afford it, and if they don’t want to bother they’ll say “just buy a new one! ”. Other repair shops get cheap individual parts from god knows where to fix people’s devices so it breaks again and again on loop draining you dry. Lol don’t get me started on if you have an android device.
I highly recommend Hawaii devices tho! Not the best designed but definitely cheaper repair cost and great customer service.
It's one the main reason why I HATE Apple in general
