I watched it yesterday, I watched it today and I am going to watch it tomorrow too. Fantastic performance - and I don't mean just the music.
I started playing the flute less than a year ago (at the age of 31) and it is essentially my first instrument. And, unlike many children, I had a complete freedom of choice of instrument - and chose the flute.
I wish I could say it was you who inspired me to play the flute, but I didn't know you then. However, it's great to be reminded why the flute is so amazing. Thanks for this video.

As a musician and multiinstrumentalist (yes I got a flute too, but my level is at ten percent of yours) I can only say I'm very impressed. And I know very well what it means to play this way, looking at the years you had to have practiced.

Mimi--I heard you play the first time at the NFA Convention in Boston (1994?). You played the Mozart in G as a part of Julius Baker's demonstration of the Yamaha Disklavier. As one of the photographers for that convention, I captured it and it was published in the Flutist's Quarterly. You were amazing then (as a pre-teen) and you are freakin' awesome now! Wish I still had the print of that pic!
