Crucible tempering - tutorial on how to temper a crucible

I got this #6 crucible delivered to me some time ago and before i use it i'll be showing how to temper it before it goes to the furnace.

im goin to try and make one of those from what iv found its 30% graphite 70% fire clay let it dry do what u did then put in Furnas for like 4 hrs yiks thatll be some gas haven't tried the gas yet i used charcoal thanks for this very nice

Is it possible for graphite to be an electrical conductor in this way? I want to make a graphite column like the one found in batteries.
