  • I really hate anti-tamper screws! Whenever you buy a set of screwdriver bits, you never have the right one that you need. I don't see the point of them. You can buy any type of screwdriver online and get into the device you're trying to open anyway. Very often I will just modify something to fit that "weird" screw head! Stop trying to protect us from ourselves! If I own it, I have the right to open it!

"Item not servicable, challenge accepted", AWESOME. I agree with everything you said, and not limited to tamperproof hardware

I am with you Anti tamper and glue, it's sad it should all be repairable like it used to be

I don't like these but you can at least unscrew them and they serve as an indication the stuff behind is dangerous.
The ones I absolutely hate are the one-way screws or clutch screws. When they're recessed, the only way to remove these is to *drill* them

I hate it that I bought a pricey bit set thinking I had “all of them” until I saw this video. Male Phillips? 🤔🙆🏻‍♂️😡🤦🏻‍♂️🪛

Oh God yes. Torx and hex is okay but anything weirder than that should be banned.
I particularly hate the triangle one.
Whoever invented that is a misanthropist.

YES🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣! And Torx Is just an evolutionary improvement over Phillips so it makes sense😉. The rest of them have just been created to torture us.😝🤔

Had to unfucker a triangle "anti right-to-repair" security fuckbit just yesterday. If you have one of those little Swedish file sets, there is a triangular file in there that fits perfectly. Bleeping communist corporate America scuzzy slimbuckets.

      @@mevk1 unfortunately I don't.
I think I ground an unwanted hex key into a triangle and used that but that was 15 minutes of my life I'll never get back.
      Corporate slime buckets indeed.

We have a few LED nightlights that have the pesky triangle screws and the LEDs only lasted about a year before getting very dim. From a quick search I found that small Torx screw drivers can open triangle screws, however, after opening one, the second one damaged my T5 Torx head, so ended up getting a triangle head set rather than have more eWaste buying new nightlights.

They now use them on car engines. Must cut out old or make a tool for each size. So sad.

I agree , they're a pest. I've never seen a male Philips head screw before . Could be a minefield with the pronouns there 😀
