Nice video! One tip for using the "Water bandit". I got tired of holding it when filling the fresh water tank, so I got 2 thumb-screw-hose-clamps to make it hand's free. One for the bandit itself and the other for where it connects to the water source.
The magnet to hold your brush great idea really has a lot more uses if you you use your imagination

From full time RVing to Part time, you have reassured me that I have all the right components. For storing things that could get the bay dirty. I use trash bags also. For what I store in the front bays, it typically things that are heavier (tools, grill etc.). I do this because I have a travel Trailer. Helps with keeping the RV swaying due to to much weight in the rear.

Front bay is toolboxes, cordless drills and leveling blocks for us. I'm impressed how tidy you keep the basement.
In our front bay is our spare tire. Because we don't have a bumper on this RV. We also have an electric leaf blower. Comes in hand for blowing off the ground carpet or the cement pad if we are at an RV camp site. We keep the charger for the electric tools and leaf blower there also.
I like the collapsible bucket idea. We have a collapsible trash can for out side the RV. The bucket would really come in handy.
Great stuff! I keep my air compressor hoses in the front storage. I keep my grease gun in a DeWalt tool bag that comes free with their tools, first in a plastic bag then zipped up.

Hey here are some things I do for under trailer storage. I use totes for electric and a vented one for water. I also have a rubber glove box holder like the ones you see in a doctors office. I have pictures if you want

Great Job! I keep my grease gun in a 5 gallon bucket with the slide out oil with a lid on it for spills. I wish I could keep my storage that organized! Ha Ha

I try not to crowd the front storage either. We try to keep the batteries and electrical clear. We mainly keep our tool kit, Outdoor mats, extra step for uneven surfaces and travel kennel for our cat so she can sit outside and watch the squirrels and birds.

God video. Thanks. I was surprised to see your fresh water supply hose and black tank flush hose side by side. I’ve never had an experience that would contaminate one - don’t know anybody who has - but every trainer says don’t use one hose for both, so I’ve always kept them in separate bays.
Front Storage - I like your folding stool idea. Buying one now :) Also the tarp idea. I have an extra multi-meter - excellent idea for using it up front. Govee makes some nice products. I am currently trying there water sensors, but the hub requires a 110 volt powered hub. Do you have a 12 volt hub option? I also keep a short fold-up pad, like the one you can sleep on when backpacking. I use it for when I need to craw under the unit or truck. I also cut and put the foam, puzzle, flooring as a bottom liner/cushion for the entire bottom. Also put it under the batteries for a little cushion. Here is a few more items I see there: Small battery chain saw in a bag, extra length water hose, small bin for odds and ends that one might need every once in a while. Get a canvas or vinyl bag to put your trash bag grease gun in so the bags won't tear. I am currently working on a method to connect portable solar using the existing vent for lead acid battery venting.

Really enjoy your videos. Helps me when I’m trying to remember what would be handy to have in the RV. Still thinking of a battery system for my future 12v dc compressor refrigerator. We are strictly glampers.
I like your idea of the collapsible bucket. We keep our grease gun in a plastic container. Also, a 5 gal bucket is nice to have. You can also store a lot of the loose items in it. A collapsible funnel to refill your fresh water when you have to pour it in. We also have separate plastic containers to store our sewer items and hoses as well as one for all of our fresh water items and hoses. Keeps things from becoming contaminated.

I only have a TT so I'm very limited in storage space - I added a rear carry rack and a couple of large waterproof plastic bins to counterbalance the addition of a second tongue-mounted battery and exchanging 20 lb LPG tanks for 30 lb. - It all seems to work well.

Great video and gave me some ideas to update my storage. Luckily I have a rear garage for storage, so I have generators and grill back there to relieve weight on the pin. I keep my sewer hose in a black 40 gallon tote in the front compartment and water supplies in a clear tote. Nothing in the forward (battery) compartment except for a kneeling pad for working in that compartment. Thanks for the info.

Thanks Jared! We are getting close to our trip to Alaska in our 2017 303rls Reflection. We'll take any new ideas to get ready for our trip. I installed our victron equipment and 3 battleborn batteries on the wall of the main storage area and will put our generator in the front storage area. I hope this is ok? You have been a great wealth of info as we get ready for our 3-4 month trip from Michigan to Alaska! Thanks for any suggestions you may have for us!!
My grease gun has a case, and I keep my bbq stove stuff up there
Great Vid. In our front bay I keep my tools, a box fan, and things we use on the outside like outdoor lights, picnic table cover, lanterns, bug zapper, etc. also have some extension cords coiled up and hanging from the walls.

Regarding the grease gun - you are a good handyman. Build a box for it. Or if your Missus is good at sewing, have her make one out of the same material as your tarp.

Front storage compartment. My spare tire and a rack capable of holding (9) 100 AH lithium batteries, currently there are 6. Wrench set, battery charger and air pump.
The Grease Gun, I put a Old cotton sock over mine and put it in a small computer are pizza bag. works great! 👍

Another great video - Buy a LOCKNLUBE grease gun. I have the EASY-PRIME PISTOL-GRIP GREASE GUN -LNL254 After I upgraded my suspension on my rig I'm over 20 zerk fittings. This thing is amazing! Doesn't leak you just clip it on and clip it off. I can fill grease fitting WITHOUT GLOVES. I can do the whole rig with 1/2 of a paper towel now :D It's not cheap though the time and frustration it saves is well worth the expense. Once you have one of these grease guns you don't have to worry about where you store it. I have a wall mount which it's been stored in between uses for over a year and not drop of grease has leaked. ...and I'm in FL so my garage gets well over 100F.
I thought about picking up their GREASE GUN BARREL CAP though I haven't needed it.
aluminum angle....thats funny. I actually just used some aluminum angle to replace the broken plastic bottom trim on our fridge door at the bottom. The wooden insert was falling due to poor craftsmanship, so I had to replace the dowels that hold it up with heavy duty threaded bolts and then covered it with the nice aluminum angle. Who would of thought....
I used to have a tarp for going under the trailer but if it is rocky you feel it. I now use cardboard, you can fold it, you don't feel the ground, you can slide on it to reposition your self. It is cheap and easy to replace when damaged. Because it is stiffer it is easier to slide into position than a tarp.
That is a great idea.
Maybe one of those windshield heat shields would work better than cardboard. They roll up to be very compact.
I use a giant slide lock plastic bag for my lubricants.

I store all of my sewage connectors, grease, and flush hoses in the front storage. I keep fresh water and waste water stuff separate. Sewage hoses go in the bumper and under the 5th wheel I wonder if a plastic tote like a Rubbermaid would work for your grease gun.
First of all, love your channel! Best camera work and looks the best out of all the full time RV-ers out there, IMO. But, wait, wait, wait... you rewire your electrical and plumbing (add a pump?) when boondocking? We live in Idaho and do a lot of boondocking... what's with the extra MPPT and water pump?
Noticed when you did the forward compartment, next to your MultiPlus II (can’t wait to get one) you have your batteries in a rack of some sort. I can’t find the video where you installed them, but was wondering if you have a link to the rack that allows you to get them off the floor and make it able to use all the extra space in your forward compartment?

Cheap dry bag for the grease gun. Squeeze out the extra air and the water lock keeps it tight.
I put as much heavy stuff in the front storage as possible to put that weight on my truck / towards front of my toy hauler. There’s not a whole lot of room due to the onboard Onan 5500 but my bottle jacks, floor jack, gallon jugs of random stuff such as various oils, cleaning products, spare lumber for emergency needs, charcoal and wood for my smoker, and so on.
I try to avoid putting anything valuable in there because that is the lease secure compartment due to the flimsy lock mechanism. For this reason my lithium batteries and Victron set up goes in the front pass through.
Check out the lube shuttle grease gun. It’s less likely to make a mess
I’m going to check that out it looks interesting and clean.
Excellent video. I am most curious if you reinforced the wall where your Multiplus is installed? Also, how did you anchor the bottom of that behemoth? Until my wife saw this video this morning, I was mounting all of our equipment in the pass thru. Now, it is going in like yours in the front compartment. It will be much easier. Thank you!

Hi Jared, I've been following you and you're probably one of the only ones that explain clearly, has the knowledge, and don't either have ads every second or try to sell. For those reasons, I decided to ask you a question about my lithium, inverter project for my travel trailer. I bought a 3000W inverter and a 200ah lithium battery and will like to know the amp-hour fuse that goes with it. The cable purchased is 4 gauge and I ordered a 500ah fuse, is that too much? Is the wire the right size?. The cable run is less than 5 feet. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
It might be overkill, but a canoeing/camping dry bag might work for that grease gun.
Jared, where do you store your tools? Most of mine are in the front storage. We carry "camping" items as well that you do not. I have a folding shovel, podgy pie maker, hatchet, 5lb sledge, small mosquito pavilion, rope lights and fire grate for cooking. Love your videos, happy RVing.
Fire extinguisher(s), one inside, one in outside storage in an unlockable compartment (propane compartment?) and one in the truck, something to cover damaged exterior surfaces to protect from water and a removable tape for it, roof caulking.
Where does it end?
Did you reinforce the wall where the batteries and Inverter is all mounted? I was thinking just mounting a piece of plywood to the fit the spot. I'm yet to hook it all it up, waiting for some decent weather. Or if you have a video already that goes over that, would love to watch it. Seen most of your stuff but might have missed that.

Hey Jared! I saw this vid a while ago and was wondering when u were going to do the vid on the auto detecting converter. I installed that same converter in my RV a few months before a trip ago and am just getting ready to use the RV again. I haven’t been able to get the converter to charge the batteries higher than 13.6V on any of the times I’ve had it connected to shore power or the generator. Was trying to get someone on the phone from WFCO tech support today with no luck. Just wanted to hear your experience using this converter. Thanks.
Where are you connecting your water pressure regulator? The spigot end Or the wet bay end? I've heard pro's & con's for each. Pro at wet bay end: In case it freezes outdoors, your pressure valve doesn't freeze up. Con: It doesn't protect your hose connected to the spigot if the pressure rises too high (some parks). What's your opinion on this & which approach did you go with? Thanks for the videos!

That is a big no no for my wife. She wants the black hose and fresh water hose separate with caps on each ends of the hoses and when I am hooking up I have to keep the ends of the hoses off the ground.

A few years ago, you reviewed the Go power 2000 IC, I got it because of your review, and that it would power both legs of 50 amp (before victron did it).
Then you talked about the Portable Pit Boss Grill. So I ened up getting one of those, using it at the house, before taking it in the RV, and found I was having so much fun with it I got a larger Pit Boss Pro 850.. All your fault. Well at least that is what I tell the wife, when I come home with a new gadget. lol
However I do have restraint, I never have figured out why folks love the blackstone. If I want to grill something over a propane fire, I just go inside my RV. There is a propane fire, and I have a griddle. So I never did buy a blackstone.

So where do you store your power cord? I saw the converters but not the actual extension from pole it RV. I find it the most cumbersome and bulky thing to store.

I need your expert help please. My Ac dc charge controller that is behind my fuse panel is starting to go bad. I'm installing my solar using the same stuff you've got. Where are all of your tools? I keep 2 large tool boxes in our front basement along with some flashlights and solar powered motion detecting lights and a long rope light to keep the campsite well lit!

We have kinda the same storage setup and like you I store very little in the right front compartment leaving it dedicated to batteries, inverter, solar etc. I use a bunch of Home Depot totes to keep things modular, I find it easier to keep packed that way. I have a tool box in the bed of the truck with most of my tools in there, and the grease gun is wrapped up and stored in there. I might have missed it in the video, but where do you store your power cord?
Nice setup! Since we are full time the power cord is either in the bed of the truck for traveling or connected to shore power. If we are boondocking we put it in the main pass through.

I was concerned about the box of food. Unless the "Extra Food" is all in cans I would not have it in the basement. It could be a food source for mice and bugs long enough to reproduce before being noticed. It is no fun finding evidence in the the pantry but at least it will be quickly seen.

Given that you have the Victron which does PowerAssist, did you consider using the truck as your generator (eg with 1000watt small inverter or dc to dc) instead of using an additional inverter generator (to save space, less clutter, etc)?
With all the solar you have and the batteries, even if you need AC you’d probably only need to run truck for an hour or two to refill the batteries.
If not, why not?
It’s a compelling thought. I have considered it and it was cheaper for us to do a generator. We would have to upgrade our alternator or ad a second one to make it worth while. A typical alternator can burn up if you draw to much at an idle and our alternator only sends about 20 amps to the bank to protect the inverter.
What's the benefit over the smart converter/charger when you have a MultiPlus? Just that it automatically switches? Do you switch between lead acid and lithium for some reason?
Good question. I’m not wanting it for our setup just testing to see how it works to see if it’s a good option for people that want a new converter now and want the option to switch to Lithium in the future. Plus I think these might start showing up in new RVs so people have a choice of what battery type they would like with no modification.
@@AllAboutRVs that's awesome, keep up the good work! I'm planning a multiplus install thanks to your video and tons of follow-up research over the past couple months. Goal is to be able to run the AC in our motorhome without a generator/shore for just 2-3 hours to keep our dogs cool.
Somebody was recently asking for advice on electrical and solar setups for an TT they want to buy NEW a couple years from now and I said well, odds are you can just buy one ready for some level of lithium and solar, as things like that converter start becoming more common.
Only thing is they still wouldn't be able to run AC on stock inverter, but I imagine 12v AC upgrade options from the factory are going to get more common too.
I'm interested in the sewer pipe storage underneath. Who makes them and where can I find them?

Jared, I've tried to find the propane pressure regulator you showed on this video and have had no luck. Can you please let me know where you got it? Thanks.
I didn't see any propane pressure regulator but he did show a water pressure gauge. Propane tank pressure means very little since it has pressure until it's gone and pressure, not liquid, varies with ambient temperature. Propane is cold so using a temperature strip adhered to the outside of the tank may be a better indicator. Also, the frost line on the tank will tell you the quantity.

I notice in your stats for nerds your audio is -2.3dB which is really good. How do you achieve that?
That’s funny I don’t even know where to find that info in CZcams. I start off with the mic on top of the camera with the highest output so the camera pre amp can be as low as I can get it, because it’s not the best pre amp.
In my editing software I use a graphic EQ first then I use a limiter that works like a compressor to get my levels where I need them with out peaking.
@@AllAboutRVs Well you are doing a fantastic job. I am wondering for my Church as our uploads are quieter around -9dB. We are streaming and I run a bit of compression and limiter and run the meters to almost yellow but not red. Trying to figure out what more we can do. P.S. when in CZcams and watching a clip, right click on the movie/screen and a menu will appear with the last option of "stats for Nerds." Love the Vlog. 🇨🇦
How do you keep your stinky slinky so compacted? I try to compact mine so it fits better where I store it, it always pops out of shape... like one of those snake in a can jokes.
