The pugilist world is ruled by the powerful Wen clan, which dominates over the smaller Lan, Jiang, Nie and Jin households. Wei Ying has a heart of pure gold, so selfless and kind, exceptionally talented and a super genius..no wonder only Lan Zhan deserves him. These two actors Xiao Shan and Wang Yibo are so perfect for these roles and they are so beautifully handsome. This drama is now rank no 1 on my C-drama list. (Before it was Nirvana In(on) Fire). All the characters and casts of the Untamed are well chosen and developed. Kudos to the production team on this masterpiece and to the original author (GDC) and scriptwriters for transforming it into live drama.

He noticed his kindness and fell in love with that. He noticed his selflessness and decided to give Wei Ying his world. He noticed his loneliness and became his life long companion. He noticed those tears and became rebel, defied everyone including the man who raised him, to never let those tears appear again.
He burnt his chest, got 33 permanent whip lashes, wept for 16 years while searching for him relentlessly just bcoz he wanted to apologise that he wasn't by his side. For lan wangji, Wei wuxian was not just a human, for him Wei Ying was breath, heartbeat and his whole life.
I want all the cultivation sect whose mistaken him to ask forgiveness

What hurts the most is all of those prominent figures there, like Lan Xichen, Jiang Cheng and Nie Mingjue, knew that Wei Wuxian was reasonable, yet they said nothing in his defense. This conversation that costs a lot of life, can actually be avoided if these people speak out.
None of them showed their remorse about it until the end. Just blindly blaming everything on "the culprit" when they all took part too.
I'm really glad that their lives were actually ruined after this. Well-deserved.

He helped them and they turned their back to him. You can see how Wei Wuxian spared people of Lotus Cove, and did not hurt Lan Zhan while in fight. He did not jump down from that cliff, they pushed him. He was just a selfless, kind guy who got broken by society...
And this is the moment he allowed his inner demon to take over. But, he still did all his best not to hurt his fellows.
The only person who never gave up on him and would always believe in him was Lan Wangji he never treated him any different

What I love about Xiao Zhan's acting is he made Wei Wuxian more human . The scene where he was laughing and crying at the same time was superbly done to show WWX's hopelessness and acceptance of his situation.

Oh no no no, jc loved wy very much. At that time he was conflicted, he was the youngest sect leader, with the responsibility to rebuild his sect, his people who lost so much. Other sect leaders were watching him like hawk waiting for just a mistake to take him down. He lost his parents, his golden core for wy. He was young, temperamental and thus an easy target to manipulation.
It was wy's choice to defect from the sect, and jc thus can't be held responsible.

This drama makes me so mad. Everyone is against him from the beginning. When he uses his power to do good, he gets bashed for using “dirty tricks” but he's doing good things, they're just jealous. When he does it for justice, he also gets criticised. It was them who attacked first but yet when he defenses himself, he gets called cruel? They started it, it's their fault. They initiated so if they lose, that's their problem. No one other than lan zhan, his adoptive dad, yanli and maybe Jiang cheng for a while actually cared about him.
I still remember when jiang cheng mother got mad at wei ying for saving everyone and trying to play a hero. I was really mad at that scene.

I was so upset watching this scene that I almost spitted blood
Also just realized those cultivators and clans are actually a neat representation of cognitive dissonance, they are so hell-bent on their own opinions and perception of reality even if it goes against all facts and morality that when someone challenges their beliefs with actual facts and reason they try their best to not admit they're in the wrong and do anything to avert the argument in their favour...
Actually come to think of it the whole concept of Wei Ying going against the rest of the clans is a really good allegory for Veganism: you have all the clans stuck up in their old ways and what they perceive is morally right bc it "has been done for ages" and then there's Wei Ying who is challenging those beliefs by showing compassion and empathy to the innocent ppl of the Wen clan that can't fight for themselves (aka the innocent animals that are enslaved, abused and killed although they don't deserve it and needn't be used and killed). Thus he proposes a new way of living, is seen as extreme and unnatural and ostracized for showing a truth that the other clans don't want to see (namely that their so called morality and righteousness is shit and they do hurt innocent ppl). Also watching Wei Ying desperation on that roof is oddly accurate for what it feels like to be vegan, when you know what is going on, how cruel the world is and you just try to be better and make the world better and you want to show othe ppl the truth but they make fun of you, ridicule you and hate you for speaking that truth and for living with empathy and compassion bc they don't want to admit their own faults...
