This season just basically confirmed it but left it open enough that we’re still left guessing. Guess they didn’t want to barge 2 gay characters into one season. It’ll make it seem like they’re only doing it to prove they’re ok with it.
Some of you said that Maya confirmed that Robin is lesbian. I really admit that this was a huge plot twist on the show, I was so right that she was into steve lol. But I’m happy too, I think Steve needs a friend more than a girlfriend right now. I really like them as friends and just friends tbh. As a lesbian, I really admire and appreciate how the writers presented Robin’s sexuality and how they did it subtly. I feel like a lot of shows kind of display the lgbtq+ community as this magical underground world of rainbows, but that didn’t happen this time around. It’s refreshing to see a show who used a queer character as just a character and didn’t let their sexuality dictate their part. And also, so many people think us lesbians are men haters or something. I love men, I’ve met so many wonderful men in my lifetime, but I’m simply not attracted to them. Robin’s and Steve’s friendship is a breath of fresh air.

as much as i wanted them to be a couple in the beginning, i don’t want them to be anymore! it’s not too often we see positive close friendships between a guy & girl in shows without them being shipped. i know people are hoping for her to be bisexual but it would be nice for some lesbian representation in this show along with healthy guy/girl relationship representation!! they’re cute and iconic as heck as friends and i wanna keep it that way!

I really loved steve and robin’s relationship. I mean we all feel bad for steve’s love life but watching his character grow into a more sensible, mature and humorous person is just too good to lose if he fell in love right now in s3. I think he deserves to have a real great best friend (i know his bffff is dustin but u know, a friend his age at least) before a good girlfriend. Remember his asshole friends in s1? Yeah steve deserved better. I think he’ll just have it better in s4 if there is one but yeah, i’m just happy that steve and robin found each other:)

I feel bad for Steve, but I think the fact that Robin could come out to him shows how much he matured; it was the 80’s and he was always trying to be ‘cool’, but he still accepted and laughed with her instantly, I think that just speaks for itself.
